Temperatures and usage conditions
The temperature ratings of the Svalbard sleeping bag are specified in accordance with EN 13537:
- T-comfort: 5 deg. C - the lowest temperature at which a woman can comfortably sleep through the night,
- T-limit: 0 deg. C - the minimum temperature at which a man can sleep through the night without discomfort,
- T-extreme: -14 deg. C - the lowest temperature at which survival in the sleeping bag is possible. This is not a value recommended for standard use.
10D Rip-Stop nylon with Water Repellent coating
The interior and exterior are crafted from ultralight 10D Rip-Stop nylon equipped with a hydrophobic WR coating (Water Repellent). This finish significantly reduces moisture uptake. The Rip-Stop construction delivers outstanding resistance to abrasion and mechanical stress, effectively minimizing the risk of further tearing. On the inside, a small pocket provides convenient storage for accessories, while loops enable secure attachment of an insulating liner.
Goose down filling, H-chamber construction
Superior thermal insulation and optimal air circulation are achieved with Polish goose down in a 93+/7 blend. Featuring a fill power of 900 cuin, the down delivers outstanding compressibility, making it possible to pack the sleeping bag into a compact size. H-shaped chamber construction keeps the down evenly distributed, effectively preventing shifting and clumping. An additional layer of down in the drawstring footbox enhances thermal comfort for the feet.
Left-side zipper, Anti-Bite system
Equipped with a two-way zipper on the left side, the sleeping bag is designed for convenient access, allowing you to open it from either the top or bottom. The fluorescent puller ensures the zipper can be easily found in low-light conditions. An integrated Anti-Bite system safeguards against fabric being caught in the zipper. For enhanced heat retention, a thermal baffle runs the full length of the inside of the zipper.
Integrated hood with DUO drawcord
The integrated 3D hood delivers advanced thermal protection by surrounding the head and minimizing heat dissipation in low temperatures. Its contoured design additionally shields against wind and moisture. Featuring a Duo drawcord system with both elastic and strap components, the elastic at the neck enables unrestricted hand movement without the need for adjustment, while the rear strap makes for quick loosening—especially advantageous during nighttime operations.
