Hogue DEKA 3.25" G-Mascus Folding Knife - WC Green

A folding knife designed for everyday carry (EDC). The Wharncliffe-style blade is made of CPM-20CV stainless steel. When open, it is secured by an Ambidextrous ABLE Lock. The manufacturer has used G10 scales on the handle. Designed by Allen Elishewitz, who has been a knifemaker since 1988.

The 83-mm-long, 2.4-mm-thick blade with a Wharncliffe profile is made of CPM-20CV stainless steel, which is characterized by its resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, while maintaining good corrosion resistance.

double-sided thumb stud, Ambidextrous ABLE Lock

A double-sided thumb stud is placed on the blade, allowing easy opening of the knife with either the right or left hand. In the open position, the blade is locked with an Ambidextrous ABLE Lock.

G10 laminate handle

The manufacturer used scales from G10 materials for the handle. The textured surface ensures a secure grip. Daily comfortable carrying is ensured by a flexible, steel tip-up clip, allowing easy attachment of the knife to a belt or pocket edge.

CPM 20CV is a premium powder metallurgy tool steel with very good corrosion and wear resistance. It contains approximately 1.9% carbon, which allows for high hardness and edge sharpness. The high chromium content (2%) ensures stainless properties. Additionally, it contains: vanadium (4%), molybdenum (1%), tungsten (0.6%), silicon (0.9%), and manganese (0.3%). Thanks to powder technology, the steel has a very fine and homogeneous microstructure, which facilitates easier processing and uniform properties throughout the cross-section. After hardening, it achieves a hardness of 59-61 HRC and retains its sharpness for a long time, which makes it often used in premium knives, EDC, and tools requiring the highest durability.

ABLE Lock
ABLE Lock (Ambidextrous Bar Lock Enhanced) is an improvement on the Crossbar Lock developed by Hogue. It features a three-stage, aggressively milled bar that improves grip and facilitates operation. The mechanism uses omega springs that maintain constant pressure and ensure secure blade locking. Thanks to its high precision, the ABLE Lock is considered one of the most refined designs of its kind.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.

    I had to work it in and honestly, right after opening it I wanted to return the knife. The blade was loose, lots of blade play. Not just a bit—a lot. Tightening the pivot helped, blade play disappeared completely. At first, it was really stiff, but after some use it now opens perfectly. Tightening the screw also helped with the centering, which was off at first. Now, after a few days and tightening the screw, I think it’s great. Very sharp. You can feel that 20CV. I recommend it.
