Mechanix Wear Cold Weather SUB35 Tactical Gloves - Realtree Edge

SUB35 winter tactical gloves in authentic Realtree Edge camouflage ensure reliable protection against cold, while safeguarding hands from abrasions and cuts.

Synthetic leather with Padlock coating

The palm area features synthetic leather construction, enhanced with a silicone, anti-slip Padlock coating for superior grip stability. Impact absorption is boosted by 3 mm EVA foam padding for extra protection. The specifically embossed trigger finger, reinforced for durability, ensures precise control during firearm operation.

3M Thinsulate insulation and waterproof membrane

Featuring an inner layer of 3M Thinsulate 40 g insulation, these gloves deliver outstanding heat retention and optimal thermal comfort. A waterproof membrane further enhances functionality, providing breathability while minimizing hand perspiration.

Extended cuffs, snap fasteners and loops for easy carrying

A secure hook-and-loop strap cuff delivers a tailored fit at the wrist for enhanced comfort. The extended design adds an extra barrier to protect against cold air intrusion. Convenient snap fasteners and loops at the wrists enable quick attachment of the gloves, streamlining both transport and storage.

Touchscreen compatibility

Operate your mobile devices seamlessly while wearing gloves thanks to the touchscreen-compatible feature.

EN388-2222XX and EN511 120 Standards

These gloves comply with the EN388 standard for mechanical hazard protection at level 2222XX, indicating:

  • 2: abrasion resistance (rated on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • 2: cut resistance (rated on a scale from 0 to 5)
  • 2: tear resistance (rated on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • 2: puncture resistance (rated on a scale from 0 to 4)
  • X: TDM cut resistance – ISO 13997 test (rated from A to F)
  • X: impact protection (test conducted)

For cold protection, gloves adhere to the EN511 standard at level 120, as follows:

  • 1: resistance to convective cold (scale 0–4)
  • 2: contact cold resistance (scale 0–4)
  • 0: water permeability resistance (scale 0 or 1)

EN388 and EN511 standards use specific scales to define the level of protection: a score of 0 reflects no protection, while the highest scores (4 or 5) represent maximum resistance. For water permeability, 0 means the glove is penetrable, whereas 1 means waterproof.

In the TDM (ISO 13997) test method, letter designations apply, with A marking the lowest level of resistance and F representing the highest.

The "X" symbol denotes untested or non-applicable performance for that parameter, while the "P" symbol confirms compliance with impact protection criteria.

After 2 years of use (2 seasons from October to April), I am starting another colder period with them. Stars are for appearance and for relatively comfortable handling of the weapon (the feel of the controls and trigger is decent, although I don't recommend it for handguns). Warm in positive temperatures, but below zero your hands freeze. In the rain, they can be wrung out almost like a sponge. And the Velcro is a total failure - a large, stiff panel that stops holding after a dozen or so fastenings and then constantly stands upright every time it comes into contact with your sleeve, causing great discomfort on the wrist. You can squeeze it down with a sweatshirt or jacket cuff, but it can still come loose and stick out like a shark fin, which is annoying. I won't buy them again.

Warm in tough conditions and very grippy but the Velcro quality is terrible. After 2 weeks of intensive use, the Velcro stopped holding. As for moisture resistance, they handle only light drizzle. During longer work with wet tools, they soaked through.

Super warm gloves and the camouflage is cool, sometimes it's even hard to notice you have hands, that's how well they blend! The workmanship quality is excellent! I recommend for the forest, skiing, or skating.

I bought them last autumn. Used them a bit and what I can definitely say is these are not winter gloves. Max for autumn/spring. Not enough insulation to protect from lower temperatures. Overall, as tactical gloves they're fine, but as mentioned before: not for winter.

I'm disappointed in Militaria for the first time. Starting with sizing...the chart said L/XL, but actually M should have been good. As a result, the gloves are completely impractical, zero comfort and convenience for handling anything. About warmth... Temperature -3°C and an hour-long walk with the dog, and my hands were almost entirely cold the whole time. Note, I've been testing the gloves for 3 days and not once have I been warm. I feel better in my regular, almost torn winter gloves for 50 PLN... I do not recommend them to anyone.

Typical Mechanix quality. The gloves are made with attention to detail and from good materials. After selecting the right size, they provide a secure grip. 40 g of good-quality insulation provides thermal comfort, and the outer material protects against moisture.

Good, pretty warm gloves. Comfortable and you can do various types of work with them. Not really suitable for shooting. Still, I think they are fine for other activities.

Good product, pleasant on the hands, work perfectly with a phone, warm, the quality is wonderful - very satisfied. Thank you for such products. Thanks to the store for the cooperation. I will recommend.

In my opinion, the least refined Mechanix gloves. The sizing runs small (I ordered size 9L, as with other Mechanix, but these turned out too small; exchanged for 10XL without issue and they fit, though the fingers are a bit too long). Hard to put on, especially to get the pinky in, because the lining comes out. Aside from that, warm and almost waterproof.

Good product. Warm, quite thick but you can also shoot with them, although loading ammunition is a bit harder. Manual operation of weapons is manageable for Grot or Beryl. It's worse with the VIS, but even without gloves, it's hard to release the decocker. I spent 6 hours in the rain and they held up. I highly recommend this model if you go with the Mechanix brand.

Tested for several days of field training in temperatures down to -5°C. They keep you warm, they are snow-resistant, and, most importantly, they work great when grabbing or pulling ropes or lifting heavier objects. Nothing rubs or pinches.

Cool, quite warm, comfortable. I had significant problems with sizing. Later, those that were wide enough had fingers that were too long. So these are gloves for a pianist.

  13. B...

The gloves are warm and comfortable, with anti-slip inserts that work well even when wet. So far, they have not soaked through during work in rain and snow.

Solid and fairly warm gloves. After a whole day messing around in the snow and a few times clearing off the car, they did not soak through. Wet on the outside, dry and warm inside. The Velcro on the wrist is a nice feature. Easy to use a phone with them. I recommend.

Warm and comfortable. Tested at minimum temperatures of -8/-10°C. I recommend for walking or light work, that's what I bought them for and they work well. A good Velcro is a plus.
