The gloves were recommended to me by a store employee. At first, they are quite stiff, but they do their job very well, protecting hands from very cold temperatures and freezing wind. After the first winter, I can say that they are worth recommending. It is exactly as the AI assistant wrote. For Polish weather, they are only suitable for winter.
Mechanix Wear ColdWork WindShell Tactical Gloves - Black/Grey
Winter windproof gloves in black and grey, featuring advanced PrimaLoft Gold insulation. Delivers optimal protection against cold conditions, while also shielding hands from abrasions and cuts.
primaloft gold insulation, fleece and softshell material
The glove design utilizes warm fleece as its base material. The back of the hand is reinforced with a layer of softshell material, offering reliable protection against wind and moisture. The inner lining features synthetic PrimaLoft insulation, which delivers excellent thermal retention and ensures comfort in challenging conditions. PrimaLoft 40g Gold insulation warms the outer side, while PrimaLoft 60g Gold insulation effectively insulates the palm side.
Armortex reinforcements
On the palm side, highly durable Armortex material is used. This material is robust, water resistant, and ensures a secure grip. Armortex reinforcements are also placed on the back of the hand, with protective elements securing the thumb and fingertips. A noteworthy feature is that the gloves allow for touchscreen operation.
extended cuffs, Velcro, snap buckle
Extended cuffs are designed to effectively block cold air from penetrating the gloves. A velcro fastener guarantees a secure and precise fit of the cuffs around the wrist. The model also includes a snap buckle, enabling both gloves to be attached together for greater convenience during transport and storage.
EN388-2122X and EN511-32X standards
The gloves are certified to the protective standard EN388 at level 2122X regarding mechanical hazard resistance, representing the following:
- 2: abrasion resistance (rated 0–4)
- 1: cut resistance (rated 0–5)
- 2: tear resistance (rated 0–4)
- 2: puncture resistance (rated 0–4)
- X: TDM cut resistance – ISO 13997 method (scale A–F)
Cold protection meets EN511 level 32X, signifying:
- 3: convective cold resistance (rated 0–4)
- 2: contact cold resistance (rated 0–4)
- X: water penetration resistance (0 or 1)
The scales defined in the EN388 and EN511 standards specify the glove’s protection levels: a value of 0 indicates no protection, while the highest ratings (4, 5) offer maximum resistance. For water penetration, 0 signals penetration, and 1 indicates no penetration.
The TDM (ISO 13997) test employs letter grading, where A stands for lowest protection and F represents the highest.
X as a designation signifies that the parameter was either not assessed or does not apply.

PrimaLoft is a synthetic microfiber insulation material developed in the 1980s for the US military. It is composed of properly formed polyester microfibers that trap air inside, creating an insulating barrier with high compression capabilities. It features good water repellency (retains 96% of its properties when wet), windproofness, breathability and anti-allergenic properties.
Armortex is a durable material that is highly resistant to abrasion, tearing and cutting. Its special synthetic fiber structure reinforces the areas most vulnerable to damage, and the special texture ensures better grip and a secure hold. It prevents the gloves from becoming wet in contact with water, oil or other liquids.

The gloves are thick and look solid. However, at temperatures around -20°C, they feel cold if you are not moving. The grip is also not the best and is not very precise. I'm not sure if I would buy them again.

Typical gloves that protect against cold and wind. When conditions outside are unpleasant, they work well because they effectively block gusts and at the same time you can easily perform different tasks in them; they do not limit finger movement or precision when fastening buttons or using small tools. They are not stiff, and your hands remain dexterous in any situation. Keep in mind that during intense activity or long work, your hands may get slightly sweaty, because although the gloves protect well against the wind, they are not as breathable as thin models. This is not a choice for very low temperatures or long stays in the cold—in such conditions, a warmer variant or an additional layer will work better. Overall, these are great gloves for cool, windy days, outings, the shooting range, and doing various types of outdoor work.

Previously, I bought Mechanix Wear ColdWork Original - Covert, but my hands would get cold right away in the frost. That's why I bought these as an option for subzero temperatures. It is much better. The gloves are warm, but stiffer and not suitable for precise work. It's a trade-off. Despite the heavy insulation, after about 20-30 minutes my hands would get cold at around -5 degrees. But I should note that it happened when I was inactive. I'm a photographer and sometimes wait for the right moment to take a shot, so my hands aren’t doing anything to improve blood circulation. I think no gloves really work in those conditions. The only solution is a chemical hand warmer in the gloves. In summary: warm gloves that limit precision. They look cool and I am satisfied with them. I recommend them.

The gloves are solid, warm, a bit stiff, but comfortable to wear. The size matches the chart and they fit very well. Unfortunately, there was a minor flaw—the seam on the left index finger split. It's a small issue, easy to fix, but at this price, it shouldn't happen. Please check carefully upon receipt.

Very good gloves and great quality, plus they work with touch screens. These are work gloves for tough tasks. They are very stiff; when I first used them, I had to put a lot of effort into closing my hand. This gets better over time.
-
Very warm and durable, as expected from this brand. Slightly lacking in mobility and you can't perform detailed tasks in them, but unlike other gloves that claim to be warm but are the opposite, this model truly meets the demands.
-
The typical quality for Mechanix products. The gloves are made with attention to detail and from good materials. Once the right size is chosen, they provide a secure grip. A total of 100g of good quality insulation ensures thermal comfort, and the outer material protects against moisture. I recommend.

The gloves seem indestructible, but there's a trade-off. They are very stiff, suitable for shoveling or scooping. With any more precise tool, they will be uncomfortable. During intense movement, they work fine at -10, but when riding an electric scooter at -4, after 10 minutes your hands get cold. My old gloves from a sports store have better thermal performance.

The gloves are not really that warm if your hand is idle/you don’t move your fingers – during a one-hour walk with the dog, the fingers (especially the tips) get cold. The gloves are only warm up to about -2/-3 degrees Celsius. Below that temperature, as I wrote earlier, if your hand isn’t moving, your fingers start to freeze. Additionally, the inner durability is poor even after just a few uses – if you want to tighten them more, the effect is as in the photo – the Velcro hooks onto the inner material and creates holes/tears. Two stars for the working 'finger' on touchscreens and good external resistance to abrasions – for example, the leash, which often 'runs over the glove,' hasn’t left a mark (and it destroyed or tore several pairs of gloves during longer use).

Mechanix Wear ColdWork WindShell tactical gloves are an excellent choice for cold days. They provide warmth, wind protection, and a good grip, making them ideal for working in tough conditions. The warmest gloves for extreme conditions.
-
High-quality workmanship, very warm, provide good protection against rain and wind. The positives. The negatives are that I can hardly do anything with them on: fastening an armpit vent is a challenge, taking something out of my trousers pocket—extremely frustrating or impossible. You can use touchscreens in them, so your phone too, but only to a limited extent: answering calls, yes; typing a text? Impossible. Since I cared about warmth and protection from wind/rain, I'm very pleased with the purchase. As for the negatives, I've accepted and learned to function with them. It's good to be aware of these limitations before buying.

Great gloves. Superbly made, extremely durable. Very warm and suitable for heavy work—it's impossible to ruin them. I recommend the product and the military store as well.

The gloves are quite stiff, and choosing the right size might be a problem. They feel as if they don't quite reach the fingers' ends. They are cold-resistant and worked well during skiing. I recommend the gloves and the store!
