A lightweight self-inflating mat with a built-in pillow, made of high-quality Pongee fabric. It provides effective protection against the cold and uneven ground.

Thermal insulation coefficient R-Value

The model features a R-Value 3.6 thermal insulation coefficient, determined in accordance with the ASTM F3340-18 standard. This parameter defines the degree of insulation from the ground - the higher the value, the more effective the reduction of heat loss.

R-Value interpretation used in the outdoor industry:

  • 1.0-2.0 - use in summer conditions (night temperatures above approx. 10 deg C),
  • 2.1-3.5 - spring-summer-fall use (approx. 0-10 deg C),
  • 3.6-5.0 - cool conditions, around 0 deg C and sub-zero temperatures down to approx. -5 /-10 deg C,
  • 5.1-7.0 - winter use, temperatures below 0 deg C,
  • above 7.0 - winter conditions with increased insulation requirements.

Actual thermal comfort depends on the sleep system (sleeping bag, clothing), the type of ground, and the user's individual resistance to cold.

construction of pongee and soft foam

The mat is made of Pongee, a material resistant to abrasion and damage, characterized by high durability and resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage. It is filled with soft 3.8 cm thick polyurethane foam, which expands and fills with air when unfolded. Additionally, the mat is equipped with an integrated pillow.

Easy inflation and hardness adjustment

Ease of use is ensured by a single valve—simply open it, and the mat inflates automatically. The valve’s design ensures an airtight seal and allows for quick deflation after use. When folded, the mat measures a compact 16 x 70 cm.

    The Meteor 200 x 66 x 3.8 cm self-inflating mat is very comfortable. It is easy to unfold and very easy to fold back up. The only downside is its size when packed away — 70 cm may be inconvenient if you have a small backpack. I have a 40 l backpack with plenty of attachment points, which made it easier for me to strap it on while also carrying other gear inside the backpack itself. $ stars because of the size. The other features are flawless. Recommended: rating 4+.

    I was looking for a longer and wider-than-standard self-inflating mattress for sleeping during rough outdoor trips. After the very first night’s sleep on it (in a gym hall), I was extremely satisfied. I take a groundsheet with me to the forest and to abandoned buildings so I don’t puncture it. It does the job both in winter and in summer. I recommend it.

    Good mat. Adding a bit more air doesn't hurt, but it does its job. For a height of 187 cm, it's just right. For me, it could be a bit wider, but it's sufficient for resting during outdoor activities. For the lazy, I recommend hotel beds. The headrest needs to be inflated in the traditional way ;)

    The mat was mainly purchased with hammock use in mind. It worked out very well! It's comfortable, long enough, doesn't slide, insulates the back very well, and since it's quite stiff when inflated, it forms a great "bed" inside the hammock. Another big plus for the pillow—the best comfort is when it's inflated to 60-70%. So it's not perfect—the mat has one small downside: its size after packing. In the included cover, rolled up, it doesn't fit in a 30L backpack. But if you take it out of the cover and fold it into a square, it fits without any problem. It probably won't fit in a smaller pack at all. So if you plan to carry it in your backpack, check the size before purchasing. Despite this inconvenience, I recommend the mat with a clear conscience. At this price—SUPER! As for order fulfillment—as always, top level!

    Very comfortable mat. It inflates quickly and is easy to unfold and fold. Big plus for the pillow. At a height of 180 cm, this model is just right. The shorter model was slightly too short for me. But everything depends on which position you sleep in.
