MFH Thermo Bivy bag - Olive

Ultra-lightweight bivy sack in olive, crafted from durable, lightweight polyester featuring an internal aluminum coating. A vital part of any survival gear, it shields the body from sudden heat loss, insulates against ground temperature, and guards against harsh weather elements like wind, rain, and heat. Along with survival scenarios, serves as additional insulation for a sleeping bag or as a rescue sleeping bag.

durable polyester, interior lined with an aluminum layer

Constructed from premium polyester fabric with hydrophobic properties, the bivy bag offers enhanced resistance to moisture. An inner lining of aluminum reflects body-generated heat, aiding in the retention of warmth and safeguarding against loss of thermal comfort.

zipper, comfortable headrest

Secured with a two-way zipper featuring enhanced protection against heat loss, the model guarantees optimal user comfort. The straightforward, classic headrest design ensures a precise fit during rest while delivering reliable cold insulation.

transport cover, compact dimensions

The set comes with a cover designed for convenient transport and storage. Once folded, the product measures 18 by 9 cm and has a weight of just 240 g, making it easy to stow in a backpack or the pocket of a bag without significantly increasing overall load.

A small backpack for emergencies that you can quickly use without needing to open the main backpack. It's simple, but better than nothing. It fits almost anywhere with ease, and that's exactly what it's for.

A very useful item that reflects heat but doesn't store it. On hot days, turned inside out, it protects against the sun. In emergency situations for sleeping, it is better than nothing or than an NRC foil. I use it as an extra warming layer inside my main sleeping bag. Small, lightweight, useful.

Its size is its greatest advantage, but this sleeping bag offers almost no protection against the cold. I tested it twice at around 10°C, with a light breeze, wearing clothes. I didn't notice much difference between being inside the sleeping bag or outside it. However, for very warm nights (>20°C), I think it might work. I personally invested in a real sleeping bag.

I recommend the sleeping bag mainly because, if you fold it properly, it takes up very little space. As for whether it is warm, I was 100% satisfied, but everyone experiences the cold differently. I recommend it.

An interesting solution, and I admit that I haven't used it yet but I checked the quality briefly and, in my opinion, it seems trustworthy. As a backup sleeping bag for a backpack trip somewhere in the mountains or forest, it's a really cool solution because it's light and doesn't take up much space. The insulation structure in the form of dots or small hexagons gives hope that it will be at least a bit breathable, unlike those NRC foil sleeping bags. I actually swapped out my NRC sleeping bag in my backpack for this one, which you can buy here.
