Mora Risberg Stainless Fixed Blade Knife - Deep Forests

Featuring a fixed blade with a Clip-Point profile and a blade measuring 91 mm in length, this knife is forged from corrosion-resistant 12C27 stainless steel. Engineered for versatility, it excels in a variety of tasks, from outdoor journeys to camping and light field duties. The compact form factor and lightweight build ensure convenience and comfort in an EDC item, ideal for everyday use.

hardened stainless steel 12C27 and satin finish

The blade is crafted from premium Swedish 12C27 stainless steel (Alleima), hardened to a level of 56.5 HRC. This steel boasts a fine-grained structure, enhancing both its sharpness retention and overall durability. Optimal carbon content provides excellent hardness, while added chromium delivers outstanding resistance to corrosion and abrasion. Finished with a sleek satin polish for a refined look.

clip-point blade profile, Scandi grind

Equipped with a Clip-Point blade profile and a plain edge, the model offers a blade length of 91 mm. Featuring a Scandinavian (Scandi) grind at an angle of approximately 23 degrees, the blade allows for easy sharpening and delivers excellent control for precision tasks.

polypropylene handle and lanyard hole

The handle features robust polypropylene (PP) construction in the shade of Deep Forests. The chosen material offers exceptional resistance to moisture, dirt, and low temperatures. An ergonomically contoured design paired with a prominent cross guard enhances operational safety by shielding the hand from contact with the blade.

A textured surface on the handle scales provides a firm, slip-resistant grip during use, while a hole at the rear facilitates the attachment of a securing lanyard to minimize the risk of losing the knife.

sheath included

The set contains a polypropylene sheath featuring a Click-Lock mechanism, which ensures the knife is securely locked in place and guards against unintentional release. Thanks to its rigid construction, the sheath offers reliable protection for the blade during transport.

12C27 feature
12C27
12C27 is a high-quality Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik (now Alleima), similar in chemical composition and mechanical properties to 440A steel. It has a very fine-grained structure, which improves its cutting properties and durability. The carbon content (0.52%) ensures adequate hardness, while chromium (14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (0.6%), silicon (0.4%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which improves hardenability, strength, and structural stability while minimizing the risk of microcracks and brittleness. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 53-59 HRC, offering good impact resistance and ease of sharpening. The steel is widely used in EDC, kitchen, hunting, and outdoor knives. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of maintenance, making it a popular choice, especially among Scandinavian manufacturers and companies such as Kershaw.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
Click-Lock feature
Click-Lock
Click-Lock is a feature found in Morakniv knife sheaths that allows for quick and secure attachment of the knife. The mechanism relies on a latch that automatically locks the knife when it is inserted into the sheath, preventing it from accidentally sliding out. The lock is released by pulling the knife firmly, allowing for quick access while ensuring safety during transport.

Knife bought as a gift for someone inexperienced with knives. There was joy in how comfortable it is to hold and in the overall design. The sharpness, appearance, and ease of use are the advantages of this ordinary, yet decent Morakniv.

As I wasn't completely convinced about MOR before :) these versions, being cheaper as they are, are really excellent, truly pleasant organoleptically :) :) The deep forest color scheme is very nice...I recommend it

A very pleasant little knife. Simply nice, pleasing to the eye and practical to hold in the hand. The sheath allows you to insert the knife from either side. The hunting version, i.e. orange/olive, is very nice.

Very nice knife, light yet durable, easily sufficient for forest knife tasks, and in combination with a saw it can literally do everything. The new version is definitely an improvement, even in terms of color, in my opinion it's better.
