Robust folding knife built for everyday carry (EDC), developed in partnership with the Randall's Adventure Training team, renowned for their expertise in survival instruction. Featuring a drop point blade crafted from AUS-8 stainless steel, well-regarded for its solid edge retention and straightforward sharpening. The blade employs a full flat grind, delivering superior cutting performance while preserving significant blade durability. A black coating shields the blade from corrosion and minimizes glare. blade
Blade deployment is achieved using a dual-sided thumb stud, while the spring-assisted mechanism ensures swift and seamless opening within seconds. Jimping along the spine of the knife offers a reliable thumb placement, contributing to both safe and comfortable handling. In the deployed position, a liner lock mechanism delivers robust and stable blade security. An additional sliding safety lock further enhances protection by securing the blade when closed.
Handle scales are ergonomically contoured and crafted from black G10 fiberglass laminate. The textured surface guarantees a firm grip, even in wet or grimy conditions.
Effortless everyday carry is ensured by a flexible steel pocket clip, which can be configured for tip-up or tip-down placement, on either the right or left side.

Great folder, secure grip, well-made cutting edge, G10 scales provide a good grip, the spring significantly eases one-handed opening. The knife is of perfect size. Worth its price!

A position among knives worth having. Thoughtful design. It works great in the field. Although I definitely avoid carrying it as EDC. The G10 handles, with such sharp texturing, make putting it in your pocket feel like sandpaper. However, during use, thanks to such handles, it fits perfectly in the hand. I definitely recommend it, though it's worth considering the RAT 1 without the 'A.'

This is already my second knife from Ontario. It fits perfectly in the hand, opens comfortably, and is handy for everyday use.

Great knife, large, handy, the rough handle "sticks to your hand", the lock works, the spring makes it very easy to open with one hand. I always carry it with me, I like having the opportunity to use it :-)

Great quality for the price. The best folder in this price range. It is worth paying a little more for the RAT 1A over the RAT 1 for the opening assist and the G10 handle. The legendary folder has gained a new dimension and look. The end of the cooperation between Ontario Knife and Randall's Adventure Training has clearly brought an improvement in quality and refreshed a folder that you would think couldn't be updated. Higher quality of RAT 1A compared to Esee Avispa.

One of my favorite knives, it feels secure and comfortable in the hand, the assisted opening works great, I recommend it to everyone with bigger hands. For a long time I couldn't warm up to the RAT series, but this model completely changed my opinion. I use it daily and I have nothing bad to say, you just need to remember to oil it from time to time, otherwise the assisted opening will start to jam. Very good value for money and probably the best assisted knife in its class.

The knife is made of good steel and holds very well in the hand thanks to the G10 handles.

Very cool knife, ideal for EDC. Thanks to the opening assist, you can easily open it with one hand, which is useful when your other hand is busy. The G10 handles really ensure a good grip.
