Folding knife featuring a rounded blade tip, intended for younger individuals. The blade comes with a Clip-Point profile crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, known for its excellent resistance to dulling. A flat grind finish, along with minimal blade thickness, ensures enhanced cutting efficiency.

The knife opens via a dedicated notch on the blade, while operational safety is guaranteed by the Virobloc lock. This mechanism consists of a steel ring fitted at the pivot point of the handle. Rotating the ring by a few degrees covers the blade slot in the handle, effectively securing the blade and preventing unintentional movement. The lock also offers protection against accidental opening.

An ergonomically shaped handle constructed from tough plastic and rubber delivers a firm and safe grip during use. The handle also features an integrated hole for attaching a cord, along with a 110 dB whistle effective in all weather conditions, with an audible range up to 300 m.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

    I bought it for my daughter, age 5. Sharp, lightweight, colorful. Nice rounded tip, easy for little hands to use. My daughter has already peeled several onions and only had trouble when washing the knife. The whistle is just right and loud. The handle is lightweight, plastic - good grip. I appreciate the loop for attaching a string if needed.
