Medium-sized, remarkably lightweight folding knife equipped with a 7 cm lockable blade. A renowned classic from a French manufacturer with a heritage spanning over a century.

Featuring a Clip point blade crafted from high-carbon CX90 steel and finished with a satin polish. The blade boasts a flat full grind nearing a zero grind, and, thanks to its slender profile, delivers outstanding sharpness and cutting performance.

Deployment of the blade is effortless using the integrated notch, akin to the mechanism found on Victorinox knives.
Once opened, the blade is secured by the Virobloc lock, patented in 1955. This mechanism uses a steel ring placed at the pivot point in the handle. Simply rotate the ring a few degrees after opening to block the blade slot in the handle, effectively preventing blade movement. The same rotation can lock the blade while closed, ensuring safe transport. An elegantly simple and highly effective system.

Constructed from durable beech wood, the ergonomically contoured handle ensures a comfortable and reliable grip. Modifications are easily made; for example, adding a safety cord by drilling a hole in the handle’s end. Custom texturing, carving, or staining in your desired color is also possible, offering full personalization.

Perfectly suited for camping, bushcraft, or woodland adventures, making it a top choice for enthusiasts who appreciate tradition and the use of natural materials.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.

Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

Very good quality folding knife. I have been using it for some time and have no complaints; it is very solid and sharp. I am satisfied with the purchase. I recommend it, at this price you probably won’t find anything better. In person, it looks much better.

The smallest Opinel with a lock, bought for the pleasure of modifying a little knife for a young shepherd. The folding knife is a great toy. Beautifully impregnated and wonderfully sharpened, it cuts paper at home and sticks on holiday trips. Wonderful :)

Bought a few years ago at Militaria. The smallest size that has a blade lock. BEWARE, it is really very small, which is both a disadvantage and an advantage. You can throw it in your pocket and not feel it at all. A good option is to buy a small sheath and wear it around your neck as a neck knife. I recommend it as a backup knife, for situations where it's awkward to pull out a bigger folder. It doesn't alarm bystanders, but it will do what it needs to. Sharpness, fit, lock mechanism, and handle, all are of very good quality. It's very lightweight. The only drawback - after washing, the wood absorbs water, which causes the blade to jam. There is a way around this—hitting the handle against something hard—the blade will loosen a bit. If you like classic vibes, I recommend it. There are fewer and fewer products like this.

Sharp as hell and easy to sharpen. Handy and lightweight. However, the locking mechanism seems mostly symbolic. The blade develops rust quickly, so you really have to take care of it. In the end, I'm satisfied, but it's not a perfect knife.

Small but mighty. Despite its size, it has a lot of power. Basically, you can do all the tasks with it that you can do with a knife. I highly recommend Opinel knives.

The perfect little knife for carving. You can also easily prepare food with it. Nice, handy, very lightweight. Nicely made for a really affordable price.

A handy camping and bushcraft knife. I also use it for wood carving, even though it's not meant for that. Lightweight, small, at first glance I thought the blade would break under stronger pressure, but that was just my first impression. The knife comes sharp, but not razor sharp—which is good because it would dull faster.

Brilliant Opinel knives are true classics. A great tool for little money. The knife comes sharp, but for a razor edge, you need to touch it up a bit. I recommend it!

Cool, handy, sharp knife, ideal for mushroom picking, but not only that.

Sharp as a razor and keeps its edge for a long time. However, patina forms very quickly :)

Tiny - for small hands. At first, the lock was stiff, but it worked itself out over time.

I have it as a backup knife. Very handy and comfortable. The lock is very simple, although sometimes it's hard to turn with the same hand that's holding the knife. You have to help yourself with the other hand, which is not very practical. For simple tasks, it's more than enough.

Great knife, useful for many activities in the field. The quality of workmanship and its iconic design make this little guy capable of capturing the 'outdoor spirit'. Highly recommended.
