Walnut wood has a special charm – it's like the poetic wood that was used for old pipes. The blade is normal, just like in Opinel eights, meaning it cuts very well.

Medium-sized lightweight folding knife equipped with a blade measuring 85 mm in length. The Clip-Point style blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel and features a semi-matte surface. The full flat grind, together with the slim blade thickness, delivers excellent slicing capabilities.
Blade deployment is facilitated by a nail nick on the blade. Once opened, a patented Virobloc locking mechanism secures the blade—this steel collar, found at the pivot point on the handle, rotates a few degrees after opening to lock the blade in place, covering the notch and preventing movement. After closing, the same mechanism ensures safety by locking the blade against unintentional opening.
The handle is constructed from walnut wood, contoured ergonomically for a comfortable and secure hold. Its modifiable nature allows for personalization; users can add custom textures, carvings, or apply stains of their choice. The wooden design also makes it possible to drill a hole at the handle’s end, suitable for attaching a lanyard or safety cord.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Opinel.
Opinel is a French knife brand whose history dates back to 1890 in Savoy. The founder, Joseph Opinel, created the first folding knife, No. 08, which quickly became a symbol of everyday use thanks to its simplicity and functionality. In 1955, the Virobloc locking system was introduced, later modernized, which is still the hallmark of the brand today. In 1985, Opinel was recognized by the Victoria and Albert Museum as one of the 100 best-designed objects in the world, and the brand's knives also found their way into the MoMA collection in New York. Production takes place in Chambery, with an emphasis on quality and ecology - the wood comes from French forests and the waste is used to heat the factory. Among the famous users was Pablo Picasso, who used Opinel for carving, and the knives themselves have become a symbol of simplicity, durability, and the French lifestyle.

The handle is beautiful, and by the way – walnut seems lighter than beech or oak. The blade moves well, the Virobloc ring could rotate more freely, but that's a matter of luck. The knife came in a plastic pouch.

The knife looks wonderful with the walnut wood handle, very universal and suitable as an EDC. I received the product in perfect technical condition, with a properly sharpened blade. The delivery was fast and the knife itself was well secured. Opinel knives and the store itself are definitely worth recommending.

The beautiful wood on the handle gives a lot of character to this traditional design. Opinel is a class of its own. Also great as a gift. I recommend trying this model.
