Pulsar's thermal imaging riflescope is engineered for precise targeting during both day and night. The Thermion 2 XP50 PRO LRF offers a fixed 2x optical magnification. Enhanced accuracy is possible through digital zoom ranging from 2-16x, facilitating the detection of objects at distances up to 1800 meters. Integrated into the device is a laser rangefinder with a range of up to 800 m, delivering rapid distance measurement to the observed target with a precision of +/- 1 m.
The Thermion 2 XP50 PRO LRF features a thermal sensor with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels and a pixel pitch of 17 µm. High sensitivity allows it to detect temperature differences below 25 mK. The device utilizes an AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels. This high-contrast display ensures better color fidelity, improved energy efficiency, fast response times, and smooth image quality during use—even in low temperatures. Operating controls are managed by built-in buttons located on the riflescope tube.
The thermal scope provides eight display modes to aid in recognizing and identifying observed subjects:
- White Hot – optimized for object detection,
- Black Hot – optimized for object detection,
- Red Hot – designed for object detection,
- RedMonochrome – suitable for extended night use,
- Rainbow – intended for both recognition and identification,
- Ultramarine – crafted for recognition and identification,
- Violet – ideal for prolonged night viewing,
- Sepia – intended for long-duration night observations.
Ten selectable reticle types (D50i, C50i, X54i, H50i, X50i, T54i, M58i, X51Fi-300, M56Fi (Mil-Dot), M57Fi (Mil-Dot)), available in four colors, are electronically displayed in the same focal plane as the target. Numerous reticle options make customizing the riflescope for different shooting conditions straightforward. There are also five ballistic profiles, each supporting memory for up to ten zeroing distances. A built-in "picture-in-picture" mode enables magnification of the center image portion, occupying 10% of the display for enhanced targeting precision.
Photo and video recording functions are supported with an internal memory of 16 GB. Data can be transferred wirelessly to smartphones and tablets via Wi-Fi using the StreamVision 2 app. The built-in Wi-Fi module allows mobile devices to act as external displays or to remotely control the device. Diopter adjustment increases user convenience on the Thermion 2 model.
The riflescope housing is crafted from aluminum alloy for high resistance to impacts and mechanical stress. The durable design allows use with firearms producing recoil up to 6000 J (such as .375 H&H, 9.3 × 64). Compact construction combined with sealing ensures an IPX7 waterproof rating—protection against immersion up to 1 m depth for 30 minutes. The device functions reliably within a temperature range of -25 to +50 degrees Celsius.
Dual power is delivered by two batteries: an integrated 4900 mAh battery and a replaceable APS2 2000 mAh battery. This system allows up to 10 hours of uninterrupted operation. For extended use, APS3 batteries (not included) are supported via the provided APS3 adapter. A USB type C port gives compatibility with external power banks, further prolonging runtime. The Display OFF power-saving mode conserves energy by turning off the display without deactivating the device.
