BK909EQ2 is a 90-millimeter achromatic refractor featuring an f/10 aperture and a 900mm focal length. Outfitted with a high-quality 6x30 finder scope. The optical tube is mounted on an EQ2 equatorial mount, designed for smooth manual tracking of celestial objects and also compatible with an optional motorized drive.
Optical system
A traditional achromatic refractor, the BK909EQ2 comes with a 90mm diameter objective lens and 900mm focal length. The lens offers a light intensity of f/10. On the focuser end, the optical system incorporates a 90-degree diagonal mirror, two Kellner eyepieces (10mm and 25mm), and a Barlow lens for additional magnification options.
Mounting
Mounted on a EQ2 equatorial mount, the axes are set so that one aligns with the celestial pole, close to Polaris. When aligned correctly, tracking celestial objects requires adjusting only one axis, eliminating the need to reposition in the second plane. The mount supports two types of available drives for automated celestial tracking.
Objective focuser
The instrument includes a standard 1.25" eyepiece focuser utilizing a rack-and-pinion mechanism. The focuser ends in a mount fitted with a diagonal mirror attachment screw. A 90-degree mirror diagonal in the 1.25" standard is included. This focuser is also compatible with the Sky-Watcher electric focuser drive.
