Opening it is not a tragedy, although it will be hard with gloves on. The stone I got is kind of strange: part of it is light, and part looks like a terrazzo mosaic. Definitely for smaller knives. For this price it can be, it does the job, although I have mixed feelings.

As mentioned in another comment, once closed it's hard to open. My stone is not as light/white. Sharpening is quite pleasant, and after switching from regular corundum stones, it feels smoother and glides over the surface with less scratching. This is my first oil stone, so I have no comparison to anything similar.

A handy natural sharpening stone set in a plastic case. It repairs slightly dull blades well. It is perfect for knives with blades under 10 cm. Due to its small size, it fits in your pocket and can be easily taken camping. The only downside is that the case latch is very hard to open. This flaw does not occur in larger sharpeners from this company.

The Arkansas natural stone sharpener is very functional because it sharpens and polishes at the same time. It works great for small knives. Well protected in a plastic case.
