SOG TAC XR Serrated Folding Knife - Blackout
Crafted as a medium-sized folding knife, this model is ideal for everyday carry (EDC). Durable construction, an ergonomic handle, and the use of premium materials ensure dependable performance, making it highly suitable for use as a tactical knife as well.
CRYO D2 steel, titanium nitride coating
Featuring a Clip-Point profile, the blade is crafted from CRYO D2 tool steel, known for its exceptional resistance to dulling. A partially serrated cutting edge enhances the ability to slice through tough materials. During the hardening phase, the steel underwent cryogenic treatment, significantly improving its durability against chipping and cracking. The blade is finished with a black titanium nitride (Titanium Nitride) coating, which delivers a consistent look while offering anti-reflective and anti-corrosive benefits. Deployment is swift via a thumb stud or flipper. An added notch on the spine provides a secure thumb rest for controlled handling.
G10 laminate, non-slip texture
Featuring textured scales crafted from G10 composite, the handle ensures a firm and stable grip under any conditions. Screwed to robust steel liners, the scales provide exceptional structural strength and rigidity. An integrated hole at the handle’s end is designed for threading a safety lanyard.
XR Lock, symmetrical steel clip
With the blade deployed, a robust XR Lock secures it in place, preventing any unintentional closure while in use. Convenient daily carry is provided by a spring-loaded clip, which makes it easy to attach the knife to a belt, pocket edge, or various gear. Thanks to its ambidextrous design, the clip can be mounted on either side for both right-handed and left-handed users.

The first S1 Bowie model was created in collaboration with Japanese master blacksmith Ichiro Hattori and became an icon among tactical knives. SOG gained recognition with the SEAL 2000 model, which was adopted by the Navy SEALs and is now on display at the Navy SEALs museum in Fort Pierce. The brand also offers advanced multitools that use patented Compound Leverage technology, which nearly doubles the pressure of the pliers thanks to double pivot points. SOG products are characterized by their solid construction, precision workmanship, and are designed for both professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. Today, SOG tools are manufactured primarily in the US and Taiwan, continuing a tradition of quality and reliability.
