Pagons is the colloquial name for epaulettes (formerly epaulettes, gallons, epaulettes, epaulettes), which are an element of the uniform on which patches are placed to distinguish soldiers, as well as other employees of the uniformed services (police officers, firefighters, border guards, etc.). On the epaulettes are placed information (in the form of stripes, stars, snakes, rectangles - the so-called beams, rafters, diamonds) about the rank and affiliation with the type of service, unit, regiment or division.

The origin of epaulettes can be traced back to ribbons worn on the shoulders of military coats in the late 17th century, which partly served a decorative function, but also prevented shoulder straps from slipping off. The ribbons were tied in a knot, from which came the basic design of the epaulette, which evolved through the 18th and 19th centuries. Epaulettes were often richly decorated, embroidered with gold and silver threads, and had tassels attached to them. Today, epaulettes have mostly been replaced by a five-sided fabric flap, which is sewn into the fabric on one side and buttoned like an epaulette on the other, over which are applied sheaths with appropriate markings.

Militaria.pl offers a wide selection of sheaths and muzzles designed for most of Poland's uniformed services, including BOR field sheaths, Border Guard fleece sheaths, Navy exit sheaths, Armored Forces exit and field sheaths, Prison Service sheaths, field and exit sheaths for uniformed classes, military schools and many others.
