The M-65 jacket, a jacket of legend. Designed for the US Army by the well-known American company Alpha Industries. Introduced into service by the US Army in early 1970. The M-65 replaced the earlier M-51 version, which lacked a wind-protecting high collar.
The now legendary jacket excelled during the Vietnam War, providing thermal comfort to soldiers during the cold monsoon periods in Asia. Originally, the jacket came in four camouflage variants starting with the most popular color olive green (OG-107), with versions in woodland, desert and UCP camouflage appearing in later years. Soon after its military debut, the Alpha Industries model M-65 jacket gained recognition from millions of users around the world, who described it as "cult".
