Is it worth owning tear gas? Definitely yes. Is it worth paying extra to get pepper spray with dye? In certain situations it definitely is, as we are about to discuss and present the advantages of this type of self-defense measure. To begin with, it should be mentioned that pepper gas is a legal and safe means of self-defense available on Polish territory. It can be purchased by any adult and does not require any permits, while its use itself is trivially simple and effective. Importantly, the gas is one of the few means of self-defense that allows you to keep your distance from the attacker, which is crucial in most such unfortunate situations.
Although we mostly talk about pepper spray, it is worth mentioning that it has more than one consistency. Gas, otherwise known as cone or spray, works similarly to deodorant and is the easiest way to hit an aggressor with it and will work well even with a larger number of attackers, but there is a risk of it being retracted by the wind and it is not intended for use indoors. Jet gas is a liquid that directionally flies in a straight line up to three meters, increasing our sense of security because there is less chance of it being blown in our direction in the wind and it can be used in larger rooms. Gel gas, on the other hand, is a gelatinous jet that flies a little further, up to four and a half meters, and can be sprayed even in small rooms such as an elevator or hallway - it will only work on the person it will be on. All of the above can be a gas with a dye, which is used for additional marking of the attacker.
These types of self-defense agents in the basic version are red or reddish in color, resulting from the fact that they are made from hot peppers, it is quite easy to wash it off, although the burning sensation remains for longer. It is a good idea to equip yourself with dye gas. This option is used to mark the attacker, who, once away from the scene, will be easy to identify. There are two forms of this - either tinting the tear agent with an aggressive color or ultraviolet. The first way is used, among others, by the American company Fox in its green series models, and as the name suggests, they mark the attacker with a venomous, bright green color, which is very difficult to wash off and can remain on the body for hours. In a situation where there has been an attack, information can be given to the services about the agent used, making it easier to identify the attacker and making him stand out from the crowd quite significantly. The second option is ultraviolet, and its promoter is also an American company - Mace. Pepper gases with this company's dye at first glance do not stand out at all, but it is enough to illuminate the place where this gas landed with the light from an ultraviolet flashlight to see the hidden marking, which lasts for a very long time on the skin and clothing. This is an excellent choice for anyone who not only wants to feel safe, but also has a high sense of justice and wants an attacker who violates our right to inviolability to face deserved punishment. Also, the police are increasingly using these types of measures so that if a criminal or a larger group of criminals escapes, they can be more easily located in a crowd of people or during a chase.
