The scope is the result of the development of military engineering technology. The first optical sights appeared during World War I, but due to the high cost of production and the inaccuracy of serial production, they became firmly established on the rifles of sharpshooters only during the next world conflict in 1939-1945. However, they were still equipment intended for a narrow range of soldiers - as a rule, snipers firing at the enemy from considerable distances. The first army to equip its military with mass-produced rifles with optics was Austria. In the 1970s, scopes replaced mechanical sighting devices in the AUG-77 assault rifle.
Today we'll jump back in time a little further, as scopes have come a long way in manufacturing technology along the way. Let's deal with scopes with illuminated crosshairs. This is a very interesting solution when shooting in limited visibility. In night conditions or with not much sunlight, if the crosshairs were not illuminated, they would not be visible at all, making the weapon practically useless. Scopes with illuminated crosshairs solve this problem. With the help of electronic components, they give the target crosshairs a color - usually green, red or blue, making it easier for the shooter to take an accurate shot in difficult conditions.
The most common buyers of scopes with illuminated crosshairs, besides the military and special units, of course, are hunters and recreational or sports shooters. While hunters, using scopes with lower magnification, do not need perfect shooting precision for hunting, sports shooters should remember that a good scope should have as many degrees of crosshair illumination as possible. As the light increases, the crosshair's perimeter not only gets brighter, but also occupies a larger and larger area, which is important for selective shooting, so it's best for a scope to have at least three degrees of illumination intensity. When shooting CO2 or PCP airguns, this can be a more important parameter than shock resistance! In the category below you will find scopes with illuminated crosshairs that we have in our offer. We sell companies such as Bushnell, Walther and ASG, which are characterized by robustness and reliability. Each of them offers different variations in the availability of their products, trying to satisfy the widest possible audience. We are sure that no matter what type of optical sight you are looking for, you will find the right model for you. We invite you to go shopping!
