How to properly strap a bicycle?

First of all, you should fasten your bike by the frame and by at least one wheel. Never pin the bike only by the wheel, as this makes it much easier to steal. It is important not to pin the bike by components such as the spokes, chain, seat tube or brake cables.
For mountain bikes, it is best to pin the bike by the frame and rear wheel, but the pinning method should be adapted to the shape of the frame for optimal security. For city bikes, which often have additional rear wheel security, it is better to pin the frame together with the front wheel.
Do not pin the bike to objects that are not firmly attached to the ground and solid. The best solution is "sheffield" type stands. In the absence of such a rack in the vicinity, it is worth looking for other places, such as grates, lampposts, poles, structural elements of buildings, billboard poles and even railings of bridges and overpasses.
