MultiCam represents an advanced camouflage design, engineered in 2002 by the American company Crye Precision in collaboration with the United States Army Soldier Systems Center (Natick Labs) as part of the Objective Force Warrior initiative. The objective focused on developing a highly adaptable camouflage pattern capable of providing effective concealment across diverse landscapes and under varying environmental conditions. Incorporating a palette of seven distinct colors, the MultiCam design features seamless gradient transitions among greens, browns, and beiges. Such a composition enables the pattern to adjust effectively to its surroundings, displaying green tones in wooded regions and brown or beige hues in arid or desert terrains. Within Central and Eastern Europe, MultiCam excels during autumn and in areas dominated by dry vegetation. The pattern has achieved global acclaim and has been adopted by numerous military and special operations units. In 2010, the US Army officially selected MultiCam as the standard camouflage for troops deployed in Afghanistan, supplanting the previous Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP). Availability has also extended to civilian markets, establishing MultiCam as a favored option among military enthusiasts and airsoft players.
