Build quality is 5 stars, as expected from Alpha. However, the pockets are a total disaster. There is access to the same pocket from inside and outside. If you put your hand in with a glove on, you won’t know if you’re putting, for example, your car keys into the pocket or under the jacket, from where they'll fall out at the first opportunity. Besides that, there’s a hole through to the inside, so at the pocket entrance it’s a total pass-through. Another downside is the zippers in the middle of the hood; it’s very stiff and uncomfortable to wear, especially, for example, when sitting in a car. I feel like I have a hump on my back and I can't sit back normally. Apart from that, the hood protects very well from the wind and is fine. The jacket is warm. In summary: quality and warmth 5 stars, but the pockets are a dealbreaker in terms of usability, unless you sew them shut from the inside, in which case you can tolerate the hood. I forgot about the buttons... hopefully the buyer likes sewing them on, because even if you button them only occasionally, they like to fall off. Personally, I found a trick and sewed them through a small button under the large one so the thread doesn’t cut through, but that's more of an activity for someone with some sewing experience.
Alaska-style jacket with a deep hood delivers superior thermal comfort even in very cold conditions. The interior utilizes synthetic insulation, ensuring reliable protection against the cold. Both the outer shell and lining are crafted from robust, tear-resistant nylon that shields against wind and moisture.
A one-way zipper, safeguarded by a large buttoned storm flap, secures the jacket. This feature enhances heat retention and offers superior defense against harsh winds. The flap design also helps keep the zipper free from dust build-up and prevents it from freezing due to snow or ice.
Synthetic fur lining inside the hood and a fur trim offer protection for the head and face against cold, wind, and precipitation. Elastic cuffs, waistband, and a hood drawstring work together to block cold air from penetrating, boosting insulation and optimizing fit to the wearer’s body.
Model N2B features two side pockets with snap closures and one zippered flight pocket on the sleeve. A red tag inscribed “Remove Before Flight” is attached by the pocket. The interior also contains an extra concealed pocket for storing small essentials.
