Bestech Knives Ascot Folding Knife - Wood/Black Blade

Compact and lightweight folding knife designed for EDC (Every Day Carry) use. Features a Drop-Point blade crafted from premium 14C28N stainless steel, ensuring outstanding cutting performance. A protective Black Titanized coating gives the blade a matte finish.

stainless steel 14C28N and protective coating

Forged from 14C28N stainless steel, the blade is engineered by the Swedish firm Sandvik. The raw material’s chemical makeup has been tailored to deliver exceptional hardness. An optimized nitrogen content preserves corrosion resistance while enhancing edge retention. The inclusion of carbon contributes to excellent cutting performance, while chromium delivers robust resistance to rust and oxidation.

A Black Titanized coating provides the blade with a matte appearance, diminishes glare, and amplifies the tactical look of the knife. Enhanced surface strength increases the longevity of the blade and simplifies maintenance, all without compromising cutting efficiency.

blade with drop-point profile

Equipped with a blade featuring a Drop-Point profile and a 97 mm length, the model stands out with its gently curved spine and a distinctly defined tip, delivering optimal control throughout the cutting process. Designed to excel in both daily and outdoor scenarios, the blade merges robust construction with high precision.

Liner Lock, flipper

Effortless and reliable blade deployment is achieved through the use of ceramic ball bearings and a flipper, which acts as a compact cross guard when the knife is open. A sturdy Liner Lock mechanism secures the blade in the open position.

ergonomic handle and spring-loaded clip

A handle crafted from a blend of G10 laminate and carbon fiber, complemented by a light wood insert, endows the knife with a distinctive appearance. The non-slip texture of the handle guarantees a firm hold in every situation.

A spring-loaded, steel clip in tip-up configuration provides secure attachment to a belt, pocket edge, or selected gear.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Carbon Fiber feature
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is a composite material that is exceptionally light and very strong, considered one of the most advanced materials used in knife manufacturing. It is made of thin carbon fibers embedded in epoxy resin, which are then pressed and hardened to form an extremely rigid and resistant structure. Used in knife handles, it provides high resistance to mechanical damage, is not affected by moisture or extreme temperatures, and is chemically inert and non-conductive. It is distinguished by its characteristic layered weave, which gives each handle a unique appearance, particularly valued in premium knives.
Titanized (bestech) feature
Titanized (bestech)
Titanized in Bestech knives is a protective coating applied using the PVD method, which uses titanium compounds such as titanium nitride (TiN) or titanium oxide (TiO2). This process takes place in a vacuum and produces a thin, extremely hard layer with high resistance to abrasion and corrosion. The coating gives the blade a matte finish, reduces reflections, and emphasizes the aesthetics of the knife. It is also available in various colors. Thanks to its durability, it extends the life of the blade and facilitates its maintenance without negatively affecting its cutting properties.

The combination of materials and colors gives an effect of dark elegance, which may appeal to some. The knife is of a practical size, not too small for most tasks. I recommend it.
