Bestech Knives Ascot Folding Knife - Wood/Satin Blade

Designed for EDC (Every Day Carry), this folding knife is lightweight and compact. Featuring a blade with a Drop-Point profile, crafted from high-quality 14C28N stainless steel, it delivers outstanding cutting performance. A satin finish enhances the blade’s appearance.

stainless steel 14C28N

Forged from 14C28N stainless steel, the blade is produced by the renowned Swedish manufacturer Sandvik. The raw material's chemical makeup is engineered for exceptional hardness. Optimal nitrogen content enhances corrosion resistance and boosts edge retention. Carbon contributes to superior cutting performance, while chromium guarantees outstanding protection against rust and oxidation. The blade comes with a refined satin finish.

blade with drop-point profile

Equipped with a Drop-Point blade profile and a length of 97 mm, the knife features a gently curved spine and a pronounced tip, granting optimal control during cutting tasks. This design is well-suited for both everyday carry and outdoor applications, seamlessly blending robustness with accuracy.

Liner Lock, flipper

Effortless and smooth blade deployment is achieved using ceramic ball bearings and a flipper, which doubles as a compact cross guard when the knife is open. Secure blade lockup in the open position is provided by a sturdy Liner Lock.

ergonomic handle and spring-loaded clip

A handle crafted from a blend of G10 laminate and carbon fiber incorporates an insert of light wood, delivering an eye-catching and distinctive design. A non-slip texture on the handle offers a reliable grip under any circumstances.

A spring-loaded, steel clip in a tip-up configuration enables secure attachment of the knife to a belt, pocket edge, or various gear options.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Carbon Fiber feature
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is a composite material that is exceptionally light and very strong, considered one of the most advanced materials used in knife manufacturing. It is made of thin carbon fibers embedded in epoxy resin, which are then pressed and hardened to form an extremely rigid and resistant structure. Used in knife handles, it provides high resistance to mechanical damage, is not affected by moisture or extreme temperatures, and is chemically inert and non-conductive. It is distinguished by its characteristic layered weave, which gives each handle a unique appearance, particularly valued in premium knives.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.

The combination of materials and colors gives an effect of dark elegance, which may appeal to some. The knife is of a practical size, not too small for most tasks. I recommend it.
