Boker Plus Atlas Backlock Big Folding Knife - Black

An EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife with a 90 mm long blade and Drop-Point profile. The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel. The handle scales are made of stainless steel. In the open position, the blade is locked with the Back Lock mechanism.

12C27 stainless steel

The blade is made of 12C27 stainless steel, which features high corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening while maintaining very good operational sharpness. This steel was developed with knives in mind, offering a favorable balance between wear resistance, strength, and edge stability. Its fine-grained structure translates to clean, aggressive cutting and good control during sharpening, making it suitable for EDC and outdoor use. 12C27 steel handles moisture and daily use well, providing reliable performance in a wide range of applications.

Drop-Point profile blade

The blade with a Drop-Point profile is 90 mm long and 2.3 mm wide. This profile is particularly effective in outdoor and EDC applications where a high piercing capability and optimal blade control are required. The blade is finished using the satining method, giving it a semi-matte effect.

Back Lock

The knife blade opens manually using a nail notch, which provides simple and intuitive operation. The blade in the open position is secured by the Back Lock mechanism.

Stainless steel handle scales, ergonomic shape

The profiled handle scales are made of stainless steel, ensuring high resistance to mechanical damage. There is a small hole for attaching a lanyard at the end. The convenience of carrying is also ensured by the springy tip-up clip.

Militaria.pl is a premium dealer of Boker.

Boker is a German knife manufacturer with a tradition dating back to the 17th century, known for its distinctive chestnut tree logo – “Tree Brand.” In 1830, the company was already producing up to 2000 sabers per week, which were sent to battlefields across Europe. In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the US, Canada, and Mexico, establishing recognizable subsidiaries. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handcrafted collector's and utility knives, including those made of steel recovered from historical objects such as the Tripitz battleship. The brand offers four lines: Boker Manufaktur Solingen, Boker Plus, Magnum, and Arbolito. Boker products are valued by collectors, uniformed services, and chefs around the world.

12C27 feature
12C27
12C27 is a high-quality Swedish stainless steel developed by Sandvik (now Alleima), similar in chemical composition and mechanical properties to 440A steel. It has a very fine-grained structure, which improves its cutting properties and durability. The carbon content (0.52%) ensures adequate hardness, while chromium (14.5%) guarantees very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. The steel also contains manganese (0.6%), silicon (0.4%), phosphorus (up to 0.025%), and sulfur (up to 0.025%), which improves hardenability, strength, and structural stability while minimizing the risk of microcracks and brittleness. After heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 53-59 HRC, offering good impact resistance and ease of sharpening. The steel is widely used in EDC, kitchen, hunting, and outdoor knives. It is characterized by high corrosion resistance, good edge retention, and ease of maintenance, making it a popular choice, especially among Scandinavian manufacturers and companies such as Kershaw.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
