Boker Plus Mini Kalashnikov OTF Spring Knife - Black

OTF (Out The Front) spring knife, in which the blade, once the tensioned spring is released, extends from the front of the handle. Aluminum grip in black is designed referencing the AK-74 carbine bayonet blade has a Drop-Point profile and is made of D2 steel, characterized by high wear resistance.

Tool steel D2

The blade is made of tool steel D2, characterized by high cutting aggressiveness and high wear resistance. With proper heat treatment, it achieves a hardness range of 57–62 HRC, which translates to long-lasting sharpness retention even with intensive use. D2 steel is not fully stainless, but its corrosion resistance remains sufficient for everyday use.

Drop-Point profile blade, satin finish

The smooth blade with a Drop-Point profile has a length of 68 mm and a thickness of 2.8 mm. It is finished with a flat grind, ensuring efficient cutting and precise task execution. The blade's finish with the satin method gives it a semi-matte surface, enhancing aesthetics and increasing scratch resistance during use.

Aluminum handle, deep-carry clip

The handle made of light and durable aluminum is styled to reference the Kalashnikov AK-74 carbine bayonet. The non-slip texture and embossing improve grip confidence and increase control over the knife during use. Daily carrying of the tool is enabled by a resilient deep-carry clip allowing the knife to be attached to the edge of a pocket in a tip-down position.

OTF Double Action lock

The knife is opened using a ribbed slider located on the handle. Sliding the slider down will tension the spring and retract the blade. Safety is ensured by the OTF Double Action lock.

attention!

Polish law does not impose any restrictions on knife opening mechanisms. In other countries, there may be regulations restricting or prohibiting the carrying of specific types of knives - if you're traveling abroad with a knife, it's worth familiarizing yourself with them.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
