Boker Plus Nessmi Pro Knife - Black

Compact bushcraft knife designed by Danish knifemaker Jesper Voxnaes, reminiscent of classic trapper knives of the Nessmuk type with a Full Tang construction. The blade is made from high-carbon tool steel D2, known for its high cutting aggressiveness and abrasion resistance. The blade is additionally coated with a black corrosion-resistant coating.

Tool steel D2

The 70 mm long blade with a Nessmuk profile is made from tool steel D2, which guarantees sharpness and durability. The black finish applied using a powder method increases resistance to corrosion, scratches, and mechanical damage while reducing light reflections.

Micarta scales

Scales made from Micarta provide a secure grip even when the hand is wet or dirty. The appropriately shaped lower part of the blade protects the hand from slipping onto the blade. The handle features two pins with a loop through which a cord or paracord can be threaded.

Leather sheath

The leather sheath included in the set allows for safe carrying and storage of the knife. The loop allows for sheath attachment to a belt.

In the 19th century, it expanded its operations to the US, Canada, and Mexico, establishing recognizable subsidiaries. Today, the main factory in Solingen specializes in handcrafted collector's and utility knives, including those made of steel recovered from historical objects such as the Tripitz battleship. D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Micarta feature
Micarta
Micarta is a composite material made of layers of fabric (including canvas, linen, and paper) soaked in resin and pressed under high pressure and temperature. It is characterized by high mechanical strength, resistance to impact, abrasion, and changing weather conditions, as well as dimensional stability, which makes it ideal for knife handles. The surface of Micarta provides a secure grip and can be finished smooth or left with a slight texture to improve control over the tool. The material does not conduct heat or electricity, tolerates contact with moisture well, and acquires a characteristic patina over time, emphasizing the individual style of the knife. Thanks to its combination of durability, environmental resistance, and unique appearance, Micarta is widely used in EDC, outdoor, and collector's knives.

Very nice, compact neck knife. Jesper Voxnaes knows knives, the ergonomics for such a small knife are brilliant. The materials and workmanship are also fine, it's just a pity that the black version doesn't have a kydex sheath. Overall, a great little knife.
