Boker Plus Spillo Folding Knife

Folding knife EDC (Every Day Carry) with a blade length of 80 mm and Drop-Point profile. The blade is made from Japanese stainless steel VG-10. The handle scales in black are made from G10 composite. In the open position, the blade is locked by a Liner Lock mechanism. An nylon case is included for storage.

Stainless steel VG-10

The blade is made from Japanese stainless steel VG-10, characterized by an exceptional combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. With proper heat treatment, it achieves a hardness within the range of 59-61 HRC, ensuring an optimal balance between long-lasting sharpness and ease of sharpening.

Drop-Point profile blade, Stonewashed finish

The blade with a Drop-Point profile has a length of 80 mm and a thickness of 2.7 mm. This profile is particularly effective in outdoor and EDC applications, where a good balance of penetration capability and precise control over the blade is essential. The blade with a smooth cutting edge is designed with a flat grind and finished with the Stonewashed method, giving it a matte surface and increased resistance to scratching.

G10 scales, steel clip

The slim handle scales are made from G10 composite, known for its high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The ergonomic shape combined with a rough, non-slip texture ensures a secure and stable grip. Daily carrying is made easier with a removable, spring steel tip-up clip, allowing the knife to be attached to a belt or pocket edge.

Liner Lock, flipper

Easy and smooth opening of the knife is enabled by the bearings on the main axis of the blade, which reduce friction, and a small flipper. In the open position, the blade is secured by a durable and stable Liner Lock, which holds the blade securely during use, minimizing the risk of accidental closure.

VG-10 feature
VG-10
VG-10 is a premium Japanese stainless steel developed by Takefu Special Steel specifically for knife production. It features a unique combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. Its carbon content (0.95-1.05%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (14.5-15.5%) guarantees stainlessness and increases abrasion resistance. This steel also contains vanadium (0.2-0.3%), molybdenum (0.9-1.2%), cobalt (1.3-1.5%), silicon (0.6%), and manganese (0.5%), which improve its strength, hardenability, and resistance to microdamage. After proper heat treatment, VG-10 achieves a hardness in the range of 59-61 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between long-lasting sharpness and ease of sharpening. The steel is slightly less resistant to abrasion than ATS-34/154CM steel, but offers better impact resistance, making it more resistant to cracks and chipping. Although it has high corrosion resistance, it can develop surface rust in unfavorable conditions. VG-10 is mainly used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.

Cute little knife, unfortunately the clip is definitely weak. The first time it was accepted for warranty when the clip came loose, but the second time it was not. Great little knife, fits well in the hand, works like a dream, solid steel, but unfortunately carrying it in your pocket is not for it.

A fantastic pocket knife for everyday carry: the blade stays sharp for a long time - excellent steel, plus a stylish sheath (I use it for other purposes), really high-quality equipment. I've had it for over a year! You don't feel it at all when you carry it, opening it on those bearings is as smooth and fluid as butter! Let me just say that I intend to order a second one as a gift. I recommend it!
