Boker Plus Urban Trapper Stubby Folding Knife

A folding EDC (Every Day Carry) knife designed by American knifemaker Brad Zinker. The model combines a slim design with durable materials and a lightweight, modern aesthetic characteristic of everyday utility folding knives. Its compact size and light weight make it ideal for everyday carry in a pocket or EDC organizer.

VG-10 stainless steel and stonewash finish

The blade is made of Japanese VG-10 stainless steel, developed by Takefu Special Steel. This material is characterized by a combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. The carbon content ensures hardness, while the chromium guarantees rust resistance and increases wear resistance. This steel also contains vanadium, molybdenum, cobalt, silicon, and manganese, which improve its hardenability and resistance to microdamage.

The blade’s surface has been finished using the Stonewash method, which minimizes the visibility of fine scratches and signs of wear that occur during everyday use.

clip-point blade, jimping

This model features a Clip-Point-profile blade with a distinctly pointed tip that facilitates precise cuts and tasks requiring greater control over the blade. The slender geometry of the blade improves the knife’s cutting performance during use. The blade features jimping, which provides better support for the thumb and increases control when applying stronger pressure.

liner lock, flipper, ball bearings

The knife is equipped with a flipper that works in conjunction with ball bearings, ensuring smooth and quick one-handed opening of the blade. This mechanism improves the knife’s performance and enhances comfort during everyday use. When open, the blade is locked in place by a sturdy Liner Lock mechanism, which prevents the blade from accidentally closing while in use.

G10 laminate handle, clip, sheath included

The handle scales are made of black G10 laminate, which is resistant to moisture and mechanical damage. The non-slip texture of the surface improves grip and control over the knife while working. The design is complemented by a spring-loaded clip that allows you to conveniently carry the knife in your pocket or attach it to accouterments.

The set includes a nylon sheath for convenient carrying and safe storage of the tool during transport.

VG-10 feature
VG-10
VG-10 is a premium Japanese stainless steel developed by Takefu Special Steel specifically for knife production. It features a unique combination of high corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. Its carbon content (0.95-1.05%) ensures high hardness, while chromium (14.5-15.5%) guarantees stainlessness and increases abrasion resistance. This steel also contains vanadium (0.2-0.3%), molybdenum (0.9-1.2%), cobalt (1.3-1.5%), silicon (0.6%), and manganese (0.5%), which improve its strength, hardenability, and resistance to microdamage. After proper heat treatment, VG-10 achieves a hardness in the range of 59-61 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between long-lasting sharpness and ease of sharpening. The steel is slightly less resistant to abrasion than ATS-34/154CM steel, but offers better impact resistance, making it more resistant to cracks and chipping. Although it has high corrosion resistance, it can develop surface rust in unfavorable conditions. VG-10 is mainly used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.
