Boker Plus USA Micro USB OTF Spring knife

OTF spring knife (Out The Front) where the blade extends from the front of the handle after releasing the tensioned spring. The blade with a Clip-Point profile is made of D2 steel, known for its high wear resistance. The aluminum handle in black is styled to resemble a USB flash drive.

Tool steel D2

The knife blade is made of D2 tool steel, characterized by high cutting aggressiveness and significant wear resistance. After hardening, it achieves a hardness in the range of 57–62 HRC, which translates to long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. D2 steel is not fully stainless, but its corrosion resistance is sufficient for daily use.

Clip Point profile blade, satin finish

The smooth blade with a Clip-Point profile has a length of 40 mm and thickness of 2.3 mm. It is executed with a flat grind, ensuring effective cutting and precise task execution. The blade's satin finish gives it a semi-matte surface, improving aesthetics and increasing resistance to scratches that occur during use.

Aluminum handle, metal clip

The handle styled as a USB flash drive is made of anodized aluminum with a delicate texture obtained through milling, enhancing grip confidence. The knife is equipped with a tip-down clip. At the end of the handle, there is a hole for threading a cord or lanyard.

OTF mechanism

To extend the blade, simply slide the switch located on the handle forward, releasing the tensioned spring and dynamically extending the blade from the knife's front. The mechanism operates smoothly and allows for one-handed operation, increasing convenience in everyday situations. Sliding the switch in the opposite direction tensions the spring and retracts the blade back into the handle, simultaneously securing the knife in the closed position.

note!

Polish law does not impose any restrictions on knife opening mechanisms. In other countries, there may be regulations restricting or prohibiting the carrying of certain types of knives - if you are traveling abroad with a knife, it's advisable to familiarize yourself with them.

D2 feature
D2
D2 is a high-carbon tool steel classified as semi-stainless, characterized by high wear resistance and the ability to maintain a thin, durable edge. It achieves a hardness of 57-62 HRC, which ensures long-lasting sharpness even with intensive use. Its chemical composition is a precisely selected combination of elements: carbon (1.4-1.6%), chromium (11-13%), molybdenum (up to 0.8%), vanadium (up to 1%), manganese (up to 1%), and silicon (up to 1%). The high carbon and chromium content ensures hardness and wear resistance, while molybdenum and vanadium improve the strength and durability of the cutting edge. Although D2 steel is not completely stainless, its corrosion resistance is sufficient to meet the requirements of most conditions of use. It is widely used in the production of mid-range and high-end knives, including handmade knives and cutting tools.
Satin feature
Satin
Satin finishing is one of the most popular blade finishes, achieved by grinding the steel with fine-grained abrasives. Parallel micro-scratches remain on the surface, giving the knife a technical, matte appearance. Satin finishing has both aesthetic and practical significance - a smoothed blade is easier to clean, and the slightly reduced friction promotes smoother cutting. Depending on the direction and intensity of polishing, different effects are achieved - from a matte finish to an almost mirror-like finish. Satin is valued in both utility and collector's knives because it emphasizes the structure and quality of the steel while maintaining functionality.
