Bushmen Baker Tent 8,1 3-Person Tent

Expedition tent designed for comfortable camping for 3 people. The Baker design features high side walls and a lift-up wall that, when supported with poles, forms a covered veranda. This solution increases the usable area and allows you to conveniently arrange a space for cooking, relaxing or storing equipment.

The interior with an area of 8.1 m2 and a height of 2 m allows for setting up beds, chairs and a table, while the separate stove zone makes it possible to use heating and prepare meals. 2 entrances placed in the end walls make ventilation and space organisation easier during longer stays in the field.

The tent walls are made of PolyCotton fabric with a grammage of 220 g/m2. The combination of cotton and synthetic fibres made it possible to obtain a material that combines the properties of classic canvas with lower weight and a shorter drying time.

The fabric provides natural air exchange, reducing the feeling of stuffiness and the build-up of water vapour. At the same time, it helps maintain more stable conditions inside the tent - cooler during the day and warmer after lighting the stove.

The material offers waterproofing at a level of 500 mm water column and breathability rated at RET 6.5. These parameters indicate the use of a fabric intended for comfortable use during expeditions and camping in changing conditions.

The tent floor is made of canvas coated with a protective layer. It reduces moisture penetration from the ground and makes camp space organisation easier. In the separate stove zone, an additional protective layer sewn into the floor has been used. It protects the area under the stove from embers and elevated temperatures.

The tent dimensions are 3 x 2.7 m, which translates into approx. 8.1 m2 of usable area. The internal height is 2 m, so most activities can be done while standing. Side walls with a height of approx. 75 cm increase the usability of the space at the edges of the tent and allow comfortable sitting at a table or resting on a bed without contact with the sloping roof.

The model was designed to provide space for 3 people, but it can accommodate 7 people sleeping on mats or sleeping pads laid directly on the floor. In each corner of the tent there are organizers with 3 pockets. They provide space for small camping accessories.

The tent has been adapted for setting up a campsite with a stove. The 2 m height provides plenty of space above the equipment, and the separate zone makes it possible to organise the interior layout and designate a place for the heat source.

This solution is useful during colder expeditions. The stove can heat the interior and also support drying clothes and preparing meals. Ventilation openings and appropriately placed windows allow for air exchange.

The structure is based on 4 folding aluminum poles with a diameter of 25 mm. Aluminum provides adequate rigidity at low weight.

The set includes:

The guyline system stabilises the shell and allows the walls and roof to be tensioned properly. The use of 4 poles makes it possible both to pitch the main body of the tent and to create a covered veranda.

One of the most distinctive elements of the tent is the lift-up side wall. When spread out on poles with a height of 2.3 m, it creates a covered veranda in front of the entrance. It provides protection from sun and precipitation while enlarging the usable space outside the main interior.

After lowering the wall, the tent gains full protection and a more enclosed design. This allows you to adjust the way it is used to the weather, time of day and the current needs of the campsite.

The tent is equipped with windows placed in the end and side walls. The mosquito nets used limit insect access while allowing airflow at the same time.

The windows can be covered with blinds, which allows you to regulate the amount of light and the level of privacy. 2 entrances placed in opposite end walls make it easier to move around the tent and organise equipment.
