Byrna SD XL CO2 RAM Pistol - Black

Byrna SD XL (Self Defense) is a semi-automatic defensive pistol that launches .68 caliber projectiles. The pistol utilizes metal components complemented by a robust polymer frame. Compatible with rubber, rubber-metal, powder, pepper, or paint balls for versatile shooting options.

XL model is equipped with a longer barrel, delivering enhanced muzzle velocity and greater kinetic energy, and operates using the widely available 12 g CO2 cartridge. Engineered for personal defense, tactical training, and recreational use. No license required for purchase.

CO2 power and quick capsule piercing system

The CO2 cartridge is inserted into a chamber positioned beneath the barrel. An Allen key built into the magazine is used to unscrew the chamber cap. The rapid capsule piercing mechanism activates and pierces the cartridge with the initial pull of the trigger. This design enables the pistol to be carried and stored with a loaded cartridge, remaining primed for immediate operation.

Enlarged sighting devices and safety

Featuring enlarged mechanical sights with a fixed front and rear sight, the pistol ensures quicker and more precise target acquisition. A ambidextrous adjustable safety, easily operated with the thumb, provides effective protection against unintentional firing. The improved, lighter trigger mechanism compared to previous models enables more rapid shooting.

Profiled grip and mounting rail

A rubberized pistol grip featuring specialized honeycomb texturing ensures a secure hold on the gun, even when hands are wet. Positioned beneath the barrel is a 22 mm RIS rail, which provides the option to mount a flashlight or laser target designator.

Ability to use several types of balls

The magazine, accommodating 5 .68 caliber rounds, is compatible with a range of ball types: polymer, powder, pepper, rubber, or a combination of several ball types.

    I do not recommend it. The pistol looks cheap. For this price I expected something more. The power for the price is nothing special. After the first shot, it jammed and did not want to shoot. I own several different RAM markers, and this one is the worst in terms of materials used. If you want something powerful, buy an Umarex from the H series. After modifications, the power even beats Byrne LE. To sum up, an overrated and overhyped product.

    I am very satisfied with the purchase. This is not a toy but a real pistol for self-defense. I haven't used it yet, but I keep it in the car just in case. The pistol is always ready to use thanks to the method of piercing the gas cartridge only after pulling the trigger for the first time. The magazine is loaded with both kinetic and pepper balls, max alternately—3 kinetic and 2 pepper balls in the magazine and one kinetic ball in the chamber.

    The pistol jams after almost every shot. From what I saw on YouTube, I'm not the only one with this problem. It's a pity because it is very accurate and fits well in the hand.
