The bottle pleasantly surprised me. I thought that after twisting the lid to the drinking position, water would leak from the bottle, but that wasn't the case. So I can put the unlocked bottle in the basket and not worry, because unlocking the bottle with one hand is a bit challenging, and I wouldn't recommend doing it while riding. Drinking requires suction, and if you want to take a bigger sip, you need to squeeze the bottle. Locking the mouthpiece guarantees it is leak-proof—tested during a trip with a backpack.
