Civivi Ryson-E Folding Knife G10 - Tan

EDC folding knife designed by German knifemaker Sam Tran. The blade with a Harpoon profile and a length of 84.3 mm is made of 14C28N stainless steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. It is equipped with a Liner Lock and handle scales made of G10 laminate.

hardened 14C28N stainless steel with Gray Stonewashed finish

The knife blade is made of high-grade 14C28N stainless steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC. The chemical composition of the material has been optimised to achieve high hardness. The carbon content supports good cutting properties, while chromium provides high rust resistance and resistance to oxidation.

The blade is coated with a highly scratch-resistant Gray Stonewashed finish. The finish gives the steel a matte irregular texture, reduces light reflections, and effectively masks signs of use that appear during use.

Harpoon profile blade, hollow grind

The model features a blade with a Harpoon profile, a plain cutting edge, and a length of 84.3 mm. The blade is finished with a hollow grind.

Proper blade balance translates into better control of the knife. The weight is distributed evenly between the blade and the handle, which ensures greater cutting precision and reduces hand fatigue during prolonged work.

G10 laminate handle scales

The knife is equipped with a handle of ergonomic shape made of G10 laminate in Tan. The material is resistant to moisture, temperature changes, as well as most solvents and acids. In addition, it offers high resistance to mechanical damage. The textured surface of the scales guarantees a secure and safe grip when working with the knife.

double-sided thumb stud, Liner Lock

The knife opens by means of a double-sided thumb stud that allows it to be deployed quickly with one hand. The process is improved by the use of a ceramic ball bearing. The blade in the open position is secured by a Liner Lock.

spring clip

Comfortable knife carry is made possible by a spring clip made of stainless steel. The design allows the clip to be mounted on the right or left side, in the tip-up position.

14C28N feature
14C28N
14C28N is a martensitic "nitro" stainless steel developed by the Swedish company Sandvik (now Alleima). Its chemical composition has been optimized to achieve high hardness through nitrogen (0.11%) rather than carbon, which maintains corrosion resistance and increases edge durability. The carbon content of 0.62% contributes to good cutting properties, while chromium (14%) ensures high resistance to rust and oxidation. After proper heat treatment, the steel achieves a hardness of 55-62 HRC, which provides an optimal balance between sharpness, strength, and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its fine-grained structure and ease of sharpening, 14C28N is a popular choice for the production of kitchen, EDC, hunting, and tactical knives.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Stonewash feature
Stonewash
Stonewash is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel in a drum filled with stones, ceramic abrasives, or beads. The impact of the material creates a characteristic, irregular pattern with micro-scratches, giving the effect of a matte, slightly “aged” surface with a raw, practical appearance. The finish gives the knife an aesthetic look and masks minor scratches and marks that occur during use, keeping the blade looking like new for longer. The matte texture reduces light reflections, which is valued in tactical and outdoor knives, and the micro-scratches can further reduce friction during cutting. Due to its durability, discreet appearance, and ease of maintenance, stonewash is popular in EDC, field, and tactical knives.

The color scheme is excellent; I like combinations like this. A well-made knife that has successfully pushed the others out of my pocket. It still needs more testing, but first impressions are positive.
