I expected something a little different. The scales at the bottom of the knife are not rounded and dig into your fingers, and the lock sometimes jams. Maybe it's okay for larger hands. The knife comes factory-sharp, looks nice, and seems solid. I put it in the box and went back to my ZT.
Cold Steel Code 4 Folding Knife Tanto S35VN
Folding knife designed for everyday carry (EDC). Crafted with a blade of S35VN stainless steel that delivers exceptional corrosion resistance. An ergonomic aluminum handle ensures a secure, non-slip grip. Dual-sided thumb stud ensures rapid blade deployment, while the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees solid blade lockup during operation.
S35VN stainless steel
The blade features S35VN stainless steel—the next generation after S30V—manufactured using powder metallurgy technology. Offering superior corrosion resistance, easier sharpening compared to S30V, and, due to its finer grain structure, even greater resistance to edge chipping.
Tanto blade profile, satin finish method
Featuring a Tanto blade profile, the blade measures 89 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness. Finished using the satin finish technique, the blade displays a semi-matte surface that minimizes glare and efficiently conceals everyday wear.
Tri-Ad Lock system, double-sided thumb stud for opening
In the open position, the blade is locked securely by the Tri-Ad Lock system, a refined evolution of the traditional Back Lock, widely regarded as one of the toughest locking mechanisms found in folding knives. Its construction utilizes a stop pin that effectively absorbs the forces exerted on the blade, channeling them into the handle frame to significantly reduce wear on the mechanism. The lock is engineered to automatically adjust for natural wear over time, preserving its impressive reliability. Outfitted with a double-sided thumb stud, the blade can be rapidly deployed with one-handed operation.
ergonomic handle
Featuring an ergonomic design, the handle is crafted from two anodized aluminum plates in Gun Metal Grey. The contoured handle ensures a secure hold, effectively preventing the hand from sliding toward the blade. Enhanced thumb control comes from the textured surface along the spine of the handle. Everyday comfort is guaranteed with a reversible, spring-steel clip, enabling safe attachment to the edge of a pocket or gear. For added security, the Code 4 also incorporates a lanyard hole at the rear of the handle, making it easy to attach a lanyard and reduce the risk of misplacement.

Sturdy and elegant. Looks beautiful and is extremely strong.
-
I recommend it to all fans of minimalism, very thin, light, and handy. You barely feel you're carrying it in your pants.
-
The knife, apart from being incredibly strong and precisely made from high-quality materials, is simply beautiful.
-
Very elegant knife and on top of that, s35vn! I alternate it with the Recon1.
-
I've been using it for well over a year now, and I can honestly say it's a real workhorse, with a very strong lock and solid steel.
-
The best EDC you can imagine! Super durable with an excellent lock, tanto blade profile that is indestructible... yet thin enough to be comfortable in the pocket. Fits perfectly in hand. Highly recommend 100%.
-
Good quality folder. Very light and holds an edge well. The handle is definitely a plus.
-
The knife looks very nice and the quality of craftsmanship, ergonomics, and materials are top-notch. Great steel, cuts like a razor.
-
Excellent EDC knife. Quite large, but very thin. Practically unnoticeable in a pants pocket. Decent sharpness "out of the box", quite easy to sharpen, and you can make it razor-sharp! I recommend it.
-
All in all, it's already a classic.
-
Comparing the spear point with the clip point, this one definitely looks more aggressive... clip for the pocket, spear for the shelf.
-
I bought it as a gift and it was a hit. Great knife.
-
Excellent folder. Very sharp out of the box. All metal and zero plastic, beautifully finished.
-
This is the kind of knife you'll use all day on wood, meat, cardboard, and then you can take it to the theater, opera, or a wedding and it will fit perfectly with evening attire... The lightness, beautiful handle color, blade sharp enough to shave with—all this creates a very good impression that will amaze any friend who knows a bit about men's gadgets. Essential EDC equipment for every gentleman.
