Quite interesting. Not too big and slim, but with plenty of power and a strong lock, as this manufacturer has accustomed us to. A good choice for an everyday EDC knife made from top materials.
Cold Steel Frenzy II CPM 3V Folding Knife - Blackout
A design by American knifemaker Andrew Demko, inspired by the ancient Japanese Kabutowari weapon. A knife designed for everyday carry (EDC) with a Wharncliffe-profile blade. The blade is made of CPM-3V powder-coated steel, which is highly resistant to wear and tear, and features a Blackwash finish. The black handle is made of G10 laminate. Safety is ensured by the Tri-Ad Lock, and opening the knife is made easier by a thumb stud on both sides.
CPM-3V Powder Steel
The blade is made of CPM-3V powder-coated steel, which, although not stainless steel, offers good corrosion resistance. After heat treatment, it achieves a hardness of 58–61 HRC, providing a balance between strength, durability, and ease of sharpening.
Satin-finished Drop-Point Blade
The blade, featuring a Wharncliffe profile, is 88.9 mm long, 3.3 mm thick, and has a smooth cutting edge. The blade is finished using the Blackwash method, which leaves an irregular coating that reduces unwanted glare and hides scratches that develop during use. The blade’s design ensures excellent piercing capabilities while maintaining high-quality cutting performance.
Ergonomic G10 Laminate Handle, Steel Clip
The handles are made of G10 laminate, which consists of layers of fiberglass bonded with epoxy resin. This material ensures high strength, moisture resistance, and light weight. The scales have an ergonomic shape with non-slip contouring. This allows for a secure grip even in the rain or while wearing gloves. A hole at the end of the handle allows you to thread a lanyard or safety cord through it.
The knife is equipped with a tip-up steel clip that can be moved to either side of the handle, suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
Tri-Ad Lock, Double-Sided Stud
The knife is equipped with a Tri-Ad Lock, considered one of the most durable and reliable locking systems used in folding knives. The alloy pin absorbs the forces acting on the blade and transfers them directly to the handle body, effectively relieving stress on the locking mechanism and minimizing wear. The design automatically compensates for natural wear and tear on the components, ensuring long-term durability as well as the reliability and safety of the lock.
The blade opens using a double-sided thumb stud, which allows for equally comfortable operation for both right- and left-handed users.

The knife fits into the trend of creating lightweight folders. Despite its very large size, you don't really feel it in your pocket. Excellent clip, better than in most Cold Steel models. Springy and with a wide fin, it holds firmly but attaches effortlessly. Even though the handle is not reinforced with steel liners, the blade doesn't move sideways at all (no so-called blade play), even if you loosen the screw quite a bit. On one hand, it looks a bit intimidating, but on the other, it has something of the aesthetics of a utility knife, so it doesn't provoke negative reactions in your surroundings. I truly recommend it to anyone who wants to carry a really large blade every day.

Beautiful knife, surprisingly light for its size thanks to its pure G10 scales. The G10 of the scales is very delicate to the touch compared to other knives from this brand (which have a more aggressive texture). The blade is relatively thick/wide and the grind is short, which makes the blade more durable, but not as good at cutting materials as knives with a taller/longer grind. When folded, the knife is long for a folder but also very slim/thin. If you're used to carrying folders with 4-inch blades in your pocket and have no problem with their size, you won't notice this one either—neither when walking nor sitting.

It arrived today :) This is a beast! Beautiful piece :)) I’m not a knife fan—when I was a kid I had a Finnish knife and then a Swiss army knife and that’s it. I just put on a second band-aid for cuts trying to close it with one hand… that thing on the blade is not really for opening… I saw maybe 15 reviews of this beauty on YouTube and no one explained how to really open it... it’s made to be opened with a flick, there’s something Japanese about it and it’s suitable for everyday use, sort of like a samurai katana :) This knife is strictly for self-defense—and that's what I bought it for, in case someone attacked me in the woods for no reason… It’s made for fighting and not worth dulling the blade on anything else... There’s a thumb groove in the handle, you put your thumb there and flick it in any direction, up or sideways—slash! It opens faster than any OTF... No video showed this, they just clumsily tried to open it with that thing on the handle... You can get, for example, an SOCP 391BK 391 and that’ll be fine too, but if you like walking in camo and rolling in the mud... this one is simply elegant + mega light for its size... And the handle—long, just right to smoothly toss the knife from hand to hand and always catch it... try that with those small and sharp ones! :) Fantastically thought-out work of art in my opinion, no weak points... It closes with two hands unless you’re willing to sacrifice your index finger to practice closing it with one hand... super sharp... Without hesitation I’d buy it again :) Customer service very good.

Great knife, quite large.

Outstanding knife. Reliable with beautiful styling.

First of all, it's not as big as it appears in the photo, a really nice and slim knife, but it still has its size, a bit long, but the craftsmanship and the fun of owning it is just mastery.
