Quite interesting. Not too big and slim, but with plenty of power and a strong lock, as this manufacturer has accustomed us to. A good choice for an everyday EDC knife made from top materials.
Cold Steel Frenzy II S35VN Folding Knife - Blue/Black
Crafted by American knifemaker Andrew Demko, this project draws inspiration from ancient Japanese Kabutowari weapons. Engineered for daily carry (EDC), it features a blade with a Wharncliffe profile. Constructed from CPM-S35VN powder steel and finished with a satin blade, the knife offers excellent resistance to corrosion. The handle, presented in a blue-black hue, is made of G10 laminate. For secure handling, the Tri-Ad Lock mechanism guarantees safety, while ambidextrous access is provided via a double-sided thumb stud.
Powder steel CPM-S35VN
Crafted from powder steel CPM-S35VN, the blade reaches a hardness of 58-61 HRC following heat treatment. Renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance and robust edge retention, this steel guarantees enduring sharpness and dependable performance for everyday tasks.
Satin-finished Drop-Point blade
Featuring a Wharncliffe profile, the blade measures 142 mm in length and 3.5 mm in thickness, complemented by a plain cutting edge. Finished with a satin technique, the blade boasts a semi-matte appearance that not only elevates its look but also improves resistance to scratches. Engineered for excellent piercing performance, the blade maintains high-quality cutting ability.
Ergonomic G10 laminate grip, steel clip
The handles feature G10 laminate, created by layering fibreglass sheets bonded with epoxy resin. This construction provides exceptional strength, resistance to moisture, and a lightweight feel. Ergonomically contoured scales with non-slip profiling guarantee a secure hold, even in wet conditions or when gloves are in use. A lanyard or safety line can be threaded through the hole positioned at the end of the handle.
A steel tip-up clip is included, allowing for repositioning to either side of the handle for ambidextrous carry, making the knife suitable for both left- and right-handed users.
Tri-Ad Lock, double-sided stud
Outfitted with a Tri-Ad Lock, the knife features one of the toughest and most dependable locking mechanisms found in folding knives. The stop pin channels the forces from the blade directly into the handle frame, significantly reducing stress on the lock and decreasing component wear. This construction automatically adapts to component wear over time, delivering outstanding durability and ensuring the lock remains secure and reliable throughout extended use.
A double-sided stud allows the blade to be deployed easily by both right- and left-handed users, offering ambidextrous convenience.

The knife fits into the trend of creating lightweight folders. Despite its very large size, you don't really feel it in your pocket. Excellent clip, better than in most Cold Steel models. Springy and with a wide fin, it holds firmly but attaches effortlessly. Even though the handle is not reinforced with steel liners, the blade doesn't move sideways at all (no so-called blade play), even if you loosen the screw quite a bit. On one hand, it looks a bit intimidating, but on the other, it has something of the aesthetics of a utility knife, so it doesn't provoke negative reactions in your surroundings. I truly recommend it to anyone who wants to carry a really large blade every day.

Beautiful knife, surprisingly light for its size thanks to its pure G10 scales. The G10 of the scales is very delicate to the touch compared to other knives from this brand (which have a more aggressive texture). The blade is relatively thick/wide and the grind is short, which makes the blade more durable, but not as good at cutting materials as knives with a taller/longer grind. When folded, the knife is long for a folder but also very slim/thin. If you're used to carrying folders with 4-inch blades in your pocket and have no problem with their size, you won't notice this one either—neither when walking nor sitting.

It arrived today :) This is a beast! Beautiful piece :)) I’m not a knife fan—when I was a kid I had a Finnish knife and then a Swiss army knife and that’s it. I just put on a second band-aid for cuts trying to close it with one hand… that thing on the blade is not really for opening… I saw maybe 15 reviews of this beauty on YouTube and no one explained how to really open it... it’s made to be opened with a flick, there’s something Japanese about it and it’s suitable for everyday use, sort of like a samurai katana :) This knife is strictly for self-defense—and that's what I bought it for, in case someone attacked me in the woods for no reason… It’s made for fighting and not worth dulling the blade on anything else... There’s a thumb groove in the handle, you put your thumb there and flick it in any direction, up or sideways—slash! It opens faster than any OTF... No video showed this, they just clumsily tried to open it with that thing on the handle... You can get, for example, an SOCP 391BK 391 and that’ll be fine too, but if you like walking in camo and rolling in the mud... this one is simply elegant + mega light for its size... And the handle—long, just right to smoothly toss the knife from hand to hand and always catch it... try that with those small and sharp ones! :) Fantastically thought-out work of art in my opinion, no weak points... It closes with two hands unless you’re willing to sacrifice your index finger to practice closing it with one hand... super sharp... Without hesitation I’d buy it again :) Customer service very good.

Great knife, quite large.

Outstanding knife. Reliable with beautiful styling.

First of all, it's not as big as it appears in the photo, a really nice and slim knife, but it still has its size, a bit long, but the craftsmanship and the fun of owning it is just mastery.
