I bought it more out of curiosity than out of real need, and in the end it turned out to be one of the coolest purchases I've made recently. A few trips to the allotment, some throwing at a prepared target, and it's really a lot of fun. The sword is simple, with no unnecessary extras, and that's exactly what I like about it. Nothing has loosened, there are no problems with cleaning, and on top of that, it looks quite impressive.
Cold Steel Gladius Throwing Sword
A compact, double-edged short sword influenced by the iconic gladius, the renowned weapon wielded by Roman legionnaires in antiquity. While not a precise replica, the Gladius Throwing Sword model utilizes modern materials, making it ideal for throwing practice and demonstration purposes. The gladius-style construction, sharp tip, and low weight (690 g) enable effective and visually impressive sword throwing.
Sharp, double-edged blade made of 420 steel, black coating
Featuring a sharp, double-edged blade with a length of 450 mm and a thickness of 3 mm, this blade is crafted from 420 stainless steel, prized for its superior corrosion resistance and reliable hardenability. Its profile incorporates a flat plane ending in a pointed tip. Positioned close to the hilt is a ricasso (unsharpened edge) along with a double-sided choil (blade notch). The surface of the blade is finished with a black matte coating, while the grind showcases the satin finishing method.
Polymer handle, textured grip, light pommel with hole
Featuring a handle constructed entirely from modern polymer and measuring 172 mm in length, this design offers enhanced durability. The grip incorporates a textured surface complemented by surrounding protrusions, delivering exceptional anti-slip performance. The lightweight pommel with a lanyard hole and minimal guard shifts the balance closer to the blade tip, making it easier to use the No-Spin technique during throws.
Nylon sheath, stabilizing strap with snap, belt mounting loop
The kit features a sheath crafted from nylon, additionally strengthened with metal rivets. A belt attachment loop and a stabilizing strap secured to the handle with a metal snap provide reliable carrying.

I bought it for throwing practice and I'm satisfied. It fits well in the hand, flies predictably, and it's easy to feel the right technique. After many throws, there was no looseness or other problems. You can tell it's a solidly made piece of equipment, not just a decoration to hang on the wall.
