Longsword with a double-edged, sharp blade, often referred to as a hand-and-a-half sword. The design draws inspiration from artifacts spanning the early 14th to late 15th centuries. Classified as type XVa in Ewart Oakeshott's typology—a respected authority on European bladed weapons. The robust blade paired with a sharpened, tapered tip enables effective training in both cutting and thrusting techniques. Sharp, double-edged blade made of 1060 carbon steel
Equipped with a sharp, double-edged blade measuring 851 mm in length and 5 mm in thickness, crafted from 1060 carbon steel known for its exceptional impact resistance. A diamond-shaped cross-section runs through the blade’s center, optimizing geometric form for superior cutting performance and reinforcing the entire sword’s structure. The blade terminates in a sharp tip, while the surface has been polished to a smooth finish.
Leather-wrapped hilt, simple long cross guard, steel pommel
The hilt, measuring 304 mm in length, features a straightforward steel cross guard that shields the hand and prevents slipping onto the blade. The handle is sheathed in black leather with raised accents to greatly improve its anti-slip grip. A steel pear-shaped pommel at the tang’s end acts as a counterbalance for the blade. The hilt’s length is suitable for both single-handed and two-handed use.
Scabbard with a set of fittings
A black leather-wrapped wooden scabbard is supplied, complete with full sword fittings. Both the upper and lower fittings (chape) are crafted from steel.
