Cold Steel Hatamoto 20CV Folding Knife

Folding EDC Knife (Every Day Carry) featuring a total length of 254 mm, outfitted with a Tanto profile blade crafted from premium CPM 20CV powder steel. A black PVD coating enhances both the knife’s visual appeal and its corrosion resistance. A single thumb stud enables quick blade deployment, while a reliable Liner Lock mechanism secures the blade in place. The handle is made from carbon fibre and complemented by a sturdy, flexible clip for a secure hold and effortless everyday carry.

CPM 20CV Powder Steel

Forged from premium CPM 20CV steel, the blade undergoes precision heat treatment to reach a hardness of 59-61 HRC. This advanced powder metallurgy steel delivers excellent corrosion resistance and offers an outstanding capacity to hold an edge over prolonged use. With the addition of vanadium and molybdenum, abrasion resistance is significantly enhanced, contributing to the blade’s impressive durability.

Tanto Profile Blade, PVD Coating

Featuring a Tanto-style blade, the knife measures 127 mm in length and 3 mm in thickness. A plain cutting edge is crafted with a flat grind, ensuring excellent cutting performance. The blade comes equipped with a black PVD coating that minimizes reflections and delivers protection against corrosion.

Blade geometry ensures excellent piercing capability while retaining optimal strength, making the knife suitable for demanding tasks and heavy-duty use.

Carbon Fibre Scales, Steel Clip

Handle scales crafted from resilient carbon fibre deliver lasting strength. Contoured design paired with a non-slip texture provides a secure and stable hold during use. Strategic jimping on the blade spine at the thumb rest increases precision and control while cutting.

Convenient everyday carry is facilitated by a flexible steel clip in tip-up orientation, making it easy to attach the knife to a belt or the edge of a pocket.

Thumb Stud, Liner Lock

Equipped with a thumb stud on the blade, the knife enables rapid and effortless deployment. The blade remains securely in place during operation thanks to the Liner Lock mechanism, providing enhanced user safety.

CPM 20CV feature
CPM 20CV
CPM 20CV is a premium powder metallurgy tool steel with very good corrosion and wear resistance. It contains approximately 1.9% carbon, which allows for high hardness and edge sharpness. The high chromium content (2%) ensures stainless properties. Additionally, it contains: vanadium (4%), molybdenum (1%), tungsten (0.6%), silicon (0.9%), and manganese (0.3%). Thanks to powder technology, the steel has a very fine and homogeneous microstructure, which facilitates easier processing and uniform properties throughout the cross-section. After hardening, it achieves a hardness of 59-61 HRC and retains its sharpness for a long time, which makes it often used in premium knives, EDC, and tools requiring the highest durability.
Carbon Fiber feature
Carbon Fiber
Carbon fiber is a composite material that is exceptionally light and very strong, considered one of the most advanced materials used in knife manufacturing. It is made of thin carbon fibers embedded in epoxy resin, which are then pressed and hardened to form an extremely rigid and resistant structure. Used in knife handles, it provides high resistance to mechanical damage, is not affected by moisture or extreme temperatures, and is chemically inert and non-conductive. It is distinguished by its characteristic layered weave, which gives each handle a unique appearance, particularly valued in premium knives.
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition feature
PVD - Physical Vapor Deposition
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a modern technology for applying ultra-thin layers of metal in a vacuum, which significantly increases the durability of knives. Thanks to this, the blade becomes highly resistant to scratches, abrasion, and corrosion, while gaining a matte surface that reduces glare. This process allows for aesthetic finishes in various colors, from deep black to gold, which do not wear off like classic paint. As a result, the knife retains its great appearance and full functionality even with intensive use.
