The throwing knife is well balanced. If you only use it for throwing, it's worth slightly dulling it so you don't cut your hand when gripping the blade. If you throw it by the handle, it's fine as is. Besides that, after wrapping the handle with a cord, it can be used as an emergency machete. There's no sheath included, so you'll have to make one yourself.
Cold Steel La Fontaine Thrower 1050 Knife
A massive throwing knife made from a single piece of 1050 high-carbon steel. It was designed by Cold Steel’s longtime collaborator, Luke LaFontaine, who is known for his passion for historical bladed weapons. He created a knife whose primary purpose is throwing, but thanks to its sharp cutting edge, it also works well for cutting.
durable 1050 carbon steel construction
The knife is made from a single piece of 1050 high-carbon steel. The material has undergone professional heat treatment, giving it high impact strength and crack resistance, which is particularly important for throwing knives. This model is characterized by very high-quality craftsmanship, durability, and excellent balance.
Recurve Kukri profile blade, black anti-corrosion coating
The blade, shaped like a Recurve Kukri, features a long false edge that enhances the tool’s piercing ability. The blade is 203 mm long and has a thickness of 5 mm, providing above-average resistance to breakage. The curved blade features a gently hollow grind and is sharpened along its entire length, making this model suitable for use as a general-purpose knife as well. The knife is coated with a black finish, which protects against corrosion and eliminates light glare.
integral, steel handle, cross guard
The ergonomically shaped handle, which is an integral part of the knife, fits comfortably in the hand and makes it easier to make precise throws. A deep notch for the index finger and the cross guard prevent the hand from sliding onto the blade during use. The steel construction allows the user to customize the handle, for example, by wrapping it with parachute cord.

A very interesting knife for customization. You can easily add a wrap or handle scales. Very heavy and can successfully be used for chopping. The steel holds its sharpness just like Cold Steel machetes. Great toy at a good price.

Nice knife, sticks well, everything's great, but the company is American and the knife says CHINA on it.
-
A solid piece of steel, throwing it requires a bit of practice.
-
Throws amazingly well. Highly recommend.
-
A great throwing knife with a heavy weight.
-
As a throwing knife it's okay, but you can also easily and quickly make handle scales, resulting in a pretty good pseudo-machete.
-
Large and dangerous blade. Fits well in the hand and flies nicely, though some skill is already required. Good product, I recommend it.

At first, it's hard to judge the distance, but it's a beautiful weapon.
