Cold Steel Large Parrying Dagger
Large, double-edged dagger crafted in a style reminiscent of those deployed throughout Europe from the mid-16th to 18th century. Designed for left-hand use, these substantial daggers served both in parrying and blocking incoming blows, in addition to delivering strikes.

Featuring a dagger-style blade measuring 330 mm in length and 6 mm in thickness, the knife is crafted from 1055 carbon steel, renowned for its superior impact resistance and robust defense against mechanical wear.

Steel wire wrapping on the handle ensures a secure grip, even with gloved hands. The elongated cross guard, with quillons angled towards the blade, aids in parrying attacks and controlling the adversary's weapon, while also safeguarding the hand from sliding onto the blade. 1055 is a medium-carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.5-0.6%, characterized by a good combination of hardness, impact strength, and resilience. It is a steel with a simple chemical composition, containing mainly carbon and a small amount of manganese (0.6-0.9%), which improves the impact strength and hardenability of the material. Thanks to these properties, 1055 steel is widely used in the production of machetes, bushcraft knives, swords, and tools designed for heavier field work. After proper hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 54-57 HRC, which ensures high resistance to cracks and chipping, but at the same time makes it easy to sharpen. However, due to its relatively low abrasion resistance and susceptibility to rust, this steel does not retain its sharpness for long.
