Cold Steel MAA Arming Sword

Double-edged one-handed sword from the Man-At-Arms collection, modeled after weapons from the mid-14th to early 15th century. Classified as type XVIIIa in the Ewart Oakeshott typology, created by the eminent European blades expert. Featuring a robust blade design with an elongated point, this sword is ideal for rigorous cutting and thrusting drills.

Sharp, double-edged blade made of 1090 spring steel

Featuring a sharp, double-edged blade measuring 692 mm in length with a thickness of 5.2 mm, forged from 1090 spring steel renowned for its exceptional impact resistance and flexibility. Integrating two hallmark design elements of type XVIIIa swords, the blade incorporates a narrow, double-sided fuller as well as a pronounced ridge extending from the blade’s midpoint to the tip. An oxidation process is applied to the blade surface, increasing the steel’s protection against corrosion. The sword has been completely polished for a refined finish.

Handle wrapped in leather, cross guard bent towards the point, steel pommel

A 171 mm long handle features a steel, extended cross guard designed to shield the swordsman's hand and prevent slipping onto the blade. The grip, encased in black leather and enhanced with raised protrusions, offers superior anti-slip performance. A steel pommel with a circular cross-section is mounted at the handle’s end, acting as a counterbalance to the blade.

Sheath with a set of fittings

A wooden scabbard encased in black leather, featuring a full sword suite. The top fitting and the chape are both crafted from oxidized steel.

Warning

Blade edge is highly sharpened—strictly unsuitable for sparring or combat drills!

It looks great, and due to its color and slim shape, it even appears somewhat toy-like. In reality, it's a piece of sharp and handy steel. Wonderfully made. Well crafted and solidly packaged, express delivery.

Beautifully made and well balanced. The price is quite high, but the quality makes up for it. The product is also solidly packaged, which makes it safe during transport. When unpacking, I recommend having something to wipe off the excess oxide layer from the blade.
