Very good quality and workmanship. I think the price is a bit too high relative to the blade steel, although I am confident in the brand and the quality of the workmanship. Personally, I didn't like the ergonomics. The shape of the handle basically allows only one comfortable grip and even then it barely fits in a medium-sized hand. The flat shape certainly has a positive effect on everyday carry but here I have reservations about the handle's edges being too angular. You can round them off yourself, but for this price such a detail should already be addressed by the manufacturer. I returned the product. In summary: purchasing and returns service through Militaria is at the highest level. The product is from a good brand and made from decent materials, but it's not suitable for me due to personal preferences.
Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 Spear-Point AUS-10A SW Folding knife
Rugged Every Day Carry EDC folding knife featuring a Spear-Point blade crafted from Japanese AUS-10A stainless steel. The blade utilizes a hollow grind and is enhanced with a Stonewash finish. Its black handle, constructed from glass-fiber-reinforced nylon (GFN), offers a non-slip texture for secure grip. A double-sided thumb stud enables rapid blade deployment, while a Tri-Ad Lock guarantees reliable locking in the open position. A steel clip is included for convenient carry.
AUS-10A stainless steel
Forged from Japanese AUS-10A steel, the blade delivers exceptional durability along with reliable resistance to corrosion and wear. After the hardening process, the blade reaches a hardness of 58-61 HRC.
Spear-Point blade finished with Stonewash method
Featuring a Spear-Point profile, the blade measures 76 mm in length and 3 mm in thickness. Crafted with a hollow grind and finished using the Stonewash technique, the blade boasts a semi-matte finish that effectively conceals minor scratches and wear marks from regular use.
Handle made of GFN
Featuring an ergonomically shaped handle with a non-slip texture, the grip is constructed entirely from GFN composite (Glass Filled Nylon)—a nylon material fortified with glass fibers. This composite provides a lightweight profile, excellent resistance to moisture, and durability against various chemicals. The incorporation of glass fibers enhances the handle's stiffness and abrasion resistance. A lanyard hole is integrated at the end of the handle for added functionality.
Tri-Ad Lock
Featuring a double-sided thumb stud, the knife allows for swift one-handed deployment. Once opened, the blade is locked into place by the renowned Tri-Ad Lock, regarded as one of the toughest locking mechanisms found in folding knives. This design incorporates a stop pin that absorbs impact forces on the blade, channeling them into the handle and thereby reducing wear on the locking components. Engineered to self-adjust for natural wear and tear, the mechanism ensures consistently reliable lock performance over time.
Steel clip
Durable steel clip enables the knife to be carried in a tip-up orientation when secured to a belt or pocket edge. The clip’s design is reversible, making it possible to attach on either the left or right side according to user preference.

GFN (Glass Filled Nylon) is a nylon reinforced with glass fiber, offering low weight, high durability, and resistance to moisture and many chemicals. The material performs exceptionally well in demanding conditions, maintaining its strength even under intensive use. GFN surfaces may be completely smooth or textured to improve grip, providing better control and overall ergonomics. The robustness of GFN handles has made this material a standard in the production of EDC (Everyday Carry) knives as well as lightweight tactical designs.

Shipping mastery.... Ordered late Friday, picked up at noon on Saturday.... The knife makes a good impression, I just received it.... At first glance well made, arrived reasonably sharp, time will tell the rest. I am satisfied, I recommend it.

Nice EDC. Tanto blade is good for boxes, tapes, etc. Although 'ugly' for some, it is the most functional in the urban jungle.
-
I bought it as a gift to make a good buddy feel special. He liked it and I often see it doing its job at barbecues.
-
Great folder for EDC, works perfectly. I highly recommend it!

The smaller version of the Recon works quite well in my urban EDC. A fairly compact model with little weight. The lock and functionality are its main advantages. Regarding the quality of workmanship, unfortunately CS has lowered its standards since the brand was sold by Thompson. In my case, there was quite a big vertical blade play, so I returned it after purchase. The next one arrived without any defects.

After a long time, I can say this: a great folder that will do everything the owner imagines.

It may sound clichéd, but this is a typical workhorse. In short - a work beast, both in the forest wilderness and in the concrete jungle. When batoning, it will cut through a small branch, and you can also cut open a package with your order. The size of the Mini Recon is perfect for a medium hand, and the tanto blade adds some Far Eastern flair. A good knife, so I recommend it.
-
I highly recommend this knife—appearance, practicality, sharpness, plus the recon mini is very light and great to carry in your pocket every day. Small but a beast!
-
Small, lightweight but very solid knife, does everything.
-
Top-class, a knife every knife enthusiast must have.

Nice, small, and durable knife, ideal for EDC. Well made, the lock inspires great confidence, and straight out of the box it shaved and cut paper like a razor blade :) The downside is the lack of an extra clip in the set. The one we get with the knife is bent and can't be moved to the other side. The manufacturer decided not to include a second one, even though the handle has a place that allows you to fit it on the other side. Overall, taking everything into consideration, a knife worth recommending! 4.5/5

A solid knife, fits securely in the hand. Money well spent. I recommend it.
-
When it comes to knives of this size, it has one of the most comfortable handles, and I have slim hands with relatively long fingers. Sharpening the AUS10A is a breeze, and it holds its sharpness very well. The handle is supposedly made of Grivory but resembles G10. Not too rough and doesn’t tear pockets like, for example, the Voyager ;-) My new EDC. I recommend this knife!

I waited a very long time for the new edition of this model, and as soon as it appeared here, I just have to say: it's small, but really awesome!
