Cold Steel O Tanto 1060 Fixed Blade Knife
A faithful and practical replica of the long tanto knife, which was part of the samurai caste’s combat gear. Along with the katana and wakizashi swords, it constituted the basic equipment of Japanese warriors. It served both as an additional weapon for close combat and as a knife for everyday use.
1060 spring steel, zero-grind
The sharp blade, measuring 336 mm in length and 7.9 mm in width, is made of hardened 1060 spring steel, which is characterized by high toughness. The blade features a zero-grind edge. This short sword is suitable for cutting rice mats during traditional Tameshigiri sharpness tests. The blade has been finished with a polish.
wooden handle covered with Same material
The handle is made of wood and covered with Same (stingray leather) and traditional silk cord. Noteworthy features include the decorative tsuba (cross guard), kashira (pommel), and menuki (decorative inlays beneath the cord), all crafted from metal castings.
