1055 is a medium-carbon steel with a carbon content of 0.5-0.6%, characterized by a good combination of hardness, impact strength, and resilience. It is a steel with a simple chemical composition, containing mainly carbon and a small amount of manganese (0.6-0.9%), which improves the impact strength and hardenability of the material. Thanks to these properties, 1055 steel is widely used in the production of machetes, bushcraft knives, swords, and tools designed for heavier field work. After proper hardening, the steel achieves a hardness of 54-57 HRC, which ensures high resistance to cracks and chipping, but at the same time makes it easy to sharpen. However, due to its relatively low abrasion resistance and susceptibility to rust, this steel does not retain its sharpness for long.

Simple construction, quite resistant to rough use, easy to master. Very good for training. It's worth having it alongside the Cold Steel True Flight Thrower 80TFTC because they are similar in weight (307/318 g) and only slightly different in length (358/303 mm). Both throw similarly, but this one is more forgiving and much cheaper. The downside is the lack of a sheath, and the plastic tip protector is easy to lose. I recommend it. PS: the throwing knife weighs 307 grams, not "356" as stated in the description.

Very nice, very forgiving. Had to fix the tip after a lucky throw, but since then there have been no problems.

Flies well, the steel is highly hardened (in my opinion such hardness is unnecessary in a throwing knife) - I chipped 1mm off the tip during one of the first throws, but after fixing it there were no more problems.

I would prefer if the steel went into thickness rather than length. It is only suitable for rotation throwing and requires some getting used to. But maybe it's just a matter of my technique.
