A powerful Viking axe for special tasks. Extremely strong, beautiful, and cool. I highly recommend it to everyone because it is definitely worth buying, especially for reenactors.

A contemporary take on the legendary Viking combat tool, featuring a handle crafted from hickory wood known for both its exceptional strength and attractive natural look.
The generous length of the axe handle allows you to leverage centrifugal force in use, enabling tremendously powerful swings despite its moderate weight. Historically employed in Viking warfare, this tool is equally effective today for woodwork tasks, such as preparing firewood or building a shelter during outdoor adventures.
The axe head is forged from 1055 carbon steel, and has undergone a meticulous heat-treatment process, enhancing its impact resistance while preserving excellent edge retention for practical use.

As is usually the case with Cold Steel axes, you'll need to adjust the fit of the head on the handle. Here, you’ll also need to drill the handle yourself to install the screw. The handle is factory-coated with a VERY thick layer of varnish to protect against moisture. Unfortunately, I received a piece with a slightly crooked handle ;( Hence the minus one star. I have submitted a complaint, we’ll see what happens... Definitely equipment for a strong man, because this thing is heavy!

Outstanding, very cool especially since I’m in a reenactment group. Its appearance fits perfectly with the Viking era.
