Columbia Bugaboo IV 3-in-1 Jacket - Stone Green/Shark

Jacket in Stone Green/Shark designed as a 2-layer clothing system that can be adapted to temperature, weather conditions, and activity level. It consists of 2 separate elements: an outer waterproof jacket and a fleece sweatshirt serving as an inner layer.

Both parts can be worn separately or combined into one insulated model. The outer layer alone protects against rain and wind, while the fleece provides additional thermal insulation on cooler days. The Zip-In system is responsible for quickly joining both parts together.

The outer layer is made of polyester. Protection against water is provided by Omni-Tech technology based on a microporous, breathable membrane. It ensures waterproofness at the level of 10 000 mm/m2.

The membrane limits water penetration from the outside while also supporting moisture wicking generated during movement. This makes it possible to use the jacket in rain and damp weather, reducing the risk of soaking the clothing layer worn underneath.

At the joints between individual panels, sealed seams were used to reduce the risk of water getting through the stitching. This additional protection helps maintain the jacket's protective properties during rainfall and in conditions of elevated humidity.

The outer material is coated with a hydrophobic DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. Its role is to limit water absorption by the fabric. Raindrops settle on the surface of the material and run off it instead of quickly penetrating its structure.

The fleece sweatshirt serves as an additional insulating layer. It can be worn independently when light protection against the cold is needed or connected to the outer layer using the Zip-In.

When both parts are fastened together, the fleece increases the jacket's thermal insulation. The layered construction allows the set to be used in 3 configurations:

• outer layer only - in rain and wind
• fleece only - on cooler dry days
• outer layer combined with the fleece - in lower temperatures and precipitation

The jacket lining uses Omni-Heat technology, which helps retain the heat generated by the body. The applied matrix consists of:

• 35% aluminum dots reflecting part of the heat back toward the body
• 65% breathable fabric supporting moisture wicking

The aluminum dots reduce heat loss, while the breathable parts of the lining help maintain air circulation. The technology works together with the fleece inner layer to create an additional heat-retaining layer.

The jacket is equipped with 6 pockets arranged across both layers of the set, making it possible to organize the most necessary items. On the outer part of the jacket there are 2 pockets fastened with zippers. The fleece sweatshirt is equipped with 2 open inner pockets and an additional 2 outer pockets with zippers.

The jacket is fastened with a zipper covered by a placket closed with velcro. The placket covers the zipper and limits the inflow of cold air along the front part of the jacket. The high stand-up collar effectively protects the neck from wind. At the bottom of the jacket there is a drawstring allowing the circumference to be adjusted.

The cuffs are fastened with velcro allowing their width to be adjusted. The jacket is equipped with a detachable, adjustable hood with the option to remove it.
