After a few months of testing, I can say that they are very nice and durable, the leather is soft from the first day. I have tested the waterproofness during a few heavy rains. Ordinary shoes always got soaked.

They look very solid. Elegantly made, they look even better in person than in the photos. They fit the foot very well, despite their sturdiness they are light and fit almost like sports shoes.

The shoes seem clunky but in reality they are very light and provide great ankle support. The craftsmanship is neat and the design is universal - suitable for the city and the forest. We’ll see how they perform in terms of waterproofness and breathability, as I’m always cautious about such manufacturer claims. These are my next pair of Columbias and again, size 45 is a true 45, spot on. For those who complain about sizing, I suggest measuring your foot and comparing it to the size chart before ordering - I used to be clueless too ;)

I bought the Columbia Newton Ridge Plus WP II shoes – Elk/Black, which are as described, solidly made trekking shoes. They will work well during outdoor activities as well as for everyday use.

After a few weeks of testing, I can say that they are really nice, very durable, and the leather is soft and tough from the first day. I’ve tested the waterproofness during a few downpours as well as every day when I go to the bus since my route passes through a meadow that’s always wet in the morning. Regular shoes would always let water in under these conditions, but these didn’t let anything through to my socks. Lastly, the shoes are easy to tie and comfortable even when running.

I have had one pair for a good 4/5 years and the shoes are really worth recommending. They are used most of the year mainly in the city, but they’re not afraid of the forest or even my last trip to the high Tatras. The shoes are durable and, aside from slight scuffing on the toe, after polishing they look like they are out of the box. So far the sole is still in place, apart from a few torn tread elements or abrasions around the heel and toes. But one shoe was probably made of thinner leather because it immediately showed permanent creases, while the other still practically has none.

They fit the foot very well; despite their sturdiness, they aren’t heavy and fit almost like sports shoes. It's easy to pick the right size for yourself using the provided size chart. Now just some proper waterproofing and I’m ready to go outdoors.
