CRKT Venandi Folding knife

Light folding knife with a Clip-Point profile blade of 80 mm length made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. The handle is made of G10 laminate in black color. It was designed by Richard Rogers from Mexico.

8Cr13MoV stainless steel, Bead Blast finish

The blade with a Clip-Point profile is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, characterized by very good corrosion resistance. The blade is flat ground and finished using the Bead Blast technique, resulting in a matte effect.

nail notch, Slipjoint lock

The blade deployment is possible thanks to a special nail notch on the blade. In the open position, the blade is locked by a simple, pocket knife-style Slipjoint system.

G10 laminate handle

The handle scales are made from sandblasted glass-epoxy laminate G10 resistant to mechanical damage and external factors. The rough texture of the scales guarantees a secure grip in any situation.

CRKT has earned a reputation as a brand that focuses on innovation, as evidenced by its proprietary Deadbolt, Field Strip, and Kinematic systems, as well as its patented Veff-Serrations. The company is also known for its collaboration with renowned knifemakers such as Kit Carson, Ken Onion, and Liong Mah, resulting in knives with unique character and functionality. Among the most recognizable models are the M16, Minimalist, and Pilar, which have become icons in the world of EDC and tactical knives. Since its inception, CRKT has consistently promoted the motto “Confidence in Hand,” emphasizing that their knives are designed to provide the user not only with a tool, but above all with confidence in any situation.

8Cr13MoV (8Cr13) feature
8Cr13MoV (8Cr13)
8Cr13MoV (8Cr13) is a Chinese stainless steel equivalent to Japanese AUS-8 steel. It offers a good balance between corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and edge retention. The carbon content (approximately 0.8%) affects the hardness of the steel, while chromium (13%) provides very good corrosion and abrasion resistance. Additions of molybdenum (0.3%), vanadium (up to 0.2%), manganese (0.5%), and silicon (0.4%) improve abrasion resistance and the stability of the steel structure. 8Cr13MoV is often used in the production of knives, including by companies such as Spyderco and Benchmade, which manufacture in China. After proper heat treatment, 8Cr13MoV steel achieves a hardness of 56-58 HRC, which makes it a material with good cutting properties, easy to sharpen, and relatively resistant to wear.
G10 feature
G10
G10 is a lightweight and extremely durable material, considered one of the best for knife production. It is created by pressure-pressing fiberglass with phenolic resin, which gives it high durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It is chemically inert, does not conduct electricity, and retains its properties at both low and high temperatures. In terms of parameters, it is similar to carbon fiber, but its production is much cheaper. G10 handles are manufactured by precision cutting and cutting, which increases the cost of processing but ensures a perfect fit and long knife life.
Bead Blast feature
Bead Blast
Bead Blast is a blade finishing technique that involves treating steel with a stream of fine ceramic or glass beads under high pressure. It gives the surface a uniform matte, satin-gray appearance without any light reflections. The surface obtained in the sandblasting process is smooth and aesthetic, but due to micro-pores, it may be slightly more susceptible to wear and corrosion if the blade is not properly protected. Nevertheless, Bead Blast is valued for its simplicity, discretion, and masking properties, which is why it is used in EDC, outdoor, and military knives.
